One of my best college road trips - Nov. 1982 Soph year.
We stayed at Bama TKE House, but drove up to Legion Field
for the game. 20-10 Tigers

The TKE house should've been the scariest part of that trip.

UAB play there? Yes. They need an on campus stadium. This place is a death trap!!!!

That program plays in the red so how do you pay for it and please, don't give me that "if you build they will come" nonsense.

Superdome and Old Orange Bowl.
The last time Arkansas played in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma, my wife and I walked quite a ways to find a Taxi. Scary deal at midnight. (Not a smart thing to do, as we were told.)

Similarly, walking around the Superdome does not give a safe feeling. My last visit was for the Alabama/Arkansas game.

What do these two games have in common? The Hogs got their asses kicked.

cotton bowl aint fun if you venture too far.

but that can be said for a lot of stadiums. the independence bowl, for all the crap it gets, actually does a fantastic job in regards to fan experience (it helps the local lsu fans tailgate for it no matter who is playing). BUT, go a little north of I20 and

Legion Field is in a very bad part of town.

Vaught Hemingway - only because I literally didn't think the stadium's structure was going to hold up during the game.

The Independence Bowl was in a pretty sketchy part of town. I guess that gets my vote.

Old Orange. Bowl

Horrific - definitely the worst I've ever experienced

It had the triple threat of being in one of the worst neighborhoods in America, a loathsome and felonious fanbase, and a rickety and crappy structure with bad sightlines.

The LA Coliseum is up there as well. It has a lot of history, but it's in an awful part of Los Angeles and the sightlines for visiting fans are horrendous.

Legion Field is not a scary place to visit. Not to mention you posted a very old pic of the stadium. It doesn't have either upper deck anymore.

I actually have very fond memories of Legion Field. I grew up going to games there. A lot of Bama's most storied games happened there...many epic Iron Bowls and TSIOs. I remember it it when it was a much different place.

Having said that I went to one of the last games Bama played there and the stadium was in bad shape. One of the girls we were with got her purse snatched and our car got broken into.....not the first time that happened either.

Not sure why people think the old orange bowl is so scary. It's by lil Havana which is cuban. It's not a bad or dangerous area at all. People are extremely nice and friendly imo. I've parked in people's yards and given them the 10-15 bucks many a time and felt totally safe. Night game, going back to the car is no big deal at all.

New Marlins park is there now. I go to several games a year and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that area at all.

But you're not scared of Tiger Stadium? Weren't there cracks in the foundation at Tiger Stadium not too long ago?
