Impressive still. But the high-water mark was reached back in 2012. Had they not recovered an onside kick and run a kickoff return back for a TD last season, we'd be enjoying four consecutive seasons of no bama national titles.

2009- National Title
2010- 10-3
2011- National Title
2012- National Title
2013- 11-2
2014- 12-2
2015- National Title
2016- 14-1

The decline is real

If the next 5 years are the decline like the last 4 have been and are 3 SEC Titles, 3 playoffs and 1 national title......

I'll be ok with that, however it's defined.

I'm fine staying in that mediocre decline mode.

There are a lot of great programs and coaches across CFB. Would be silly to "expect" to win anymore than that, really, even with our program.

They either win it all next season and enter dynasty mode.. or they will have won 1 championship in the last 5 years

Crazy really. Big season in 17

They can't go three seasons in a row without the natty, and have to stay with at least 50% championships within the streak. Technically a natty in 19 with keep the dynasty alive. That being said, the air of invincibility within the program is gone. It's one thing to lose to Ole Miss or Johnny Football in the middle of the season... It's another to be at the pinnacle and your QB shite the bed like that.

The way Georgia and Ohio State are recruiting, I think we've seen Saban lift his last National Title. Crazy.

Eh, we are going to have to see more of Kirby first. I think it gets at least one more if not two before its all over.

He's recruiting like a champion, and that's 70% of it.

True but he will still have to get through the west winner and most likely Saban most years. I have admitted many times that he has done a very outstanding job recruiting. I think he also needs to upgrade his coordinators but I expect that to happen after next year.

He's proven to be a great coordinator himself, so the defensive side isn't that important if his hand is steady. And Eason is a great prospect, they might be better served just sticking with a coordinator and rolling with it so Eason is a master of whatever system they are in. That might be more important than who is calling plays, IMO. Plenty of D1 coordinators can let a top QB do his thing.

Agreed but that doesn't always translate although I expect it would in this case.

I do think Eason has some great potential. I'm not going to get too much into the coordinator discussion because I know Georgia fans are tried of hearing it from Arkansas fans. I just believe they can do much better than what they currently have and expect them to sooner rather than later. Kirby certainly has the upper hand on the division imo.

Bama fans just need to come to grips with the fact that Saban is losing his edge and the game is leaving him behind. I mean they got completely outcoached and outplayed last year only to somehow win it on a once in a decade on-side kick. Not to mention the fits Nick has had with Gus and Hugh over the years. Hell, a promoted DL coach brought him damn near down the wire back in November. The way he just up and fired his OC the week before a national championship game makes me think Nick may be suffering from some kind of mental disorder. It's gonna be okay guys, we LSU fans know what it's like to deal with a coach who has lost the fire and begun to checkout mentally. To quote Bluto:

Wish in one hand, shite in the other, and watch which one fills up the fastest.

Since the last time Bama's decline was so widely deemed eminent, they've gone on a 26-1 run.

That run included the 2016 NC and a 14-1 2017 season (with a true freshman QB) that ended just 1 play, 1 mistake shy of ANOTHER NC.

Very proud of this year's team and what they accomplished.

Bama's future is bright as ever. Looking forward to the 2017 season. Roll Tide!!!
