My thinking is the kid has to be in good football shape and playing very well and performing well as a scout player for Nick Saban to bypass Cyrus, Shinn, and others to contemplate playing this kid.

Cooper is by far the best and most times only receiving threat for bama, so it's not surprising that he has many more targets.

If this statement were true, then he would also be considerably easier to double team with a safety over the top or a cloud zone with Amari being the only receiver covered in man (and in whatever zone his route takes him into).

Cleared for contact

freshman wide receiver Chris Black was no longer wearing a black, non-contact jersey when he joined his teammates for today's session inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.

I said no before Bell was hurt but we may need him. Problem is he cannot be game ready. No way.

All I'm saying is that we have had King, Bennett, and Brown all year for Murray to throw to. Mitchell was a CB the first 3 or 4 games of the year. It's not surprising that your #1 WR has more stats than Mitchell right now. That doesn't mean that Mitchell wouldn't be the best WR on your team.

Both teams have spread the ball around about the same. There is nothing to suggest Mitchell is clearly better than Cooper.

A Cooper 45 767 17.0 8
K Norwood 26 395 15.2 4
Ch Jones 24 306 12.8 4
Kenny Bell avgs over 25 ypc and is now out.
Bama has 17 different players with receptions and 6 with more than 15.

M Mitchell 36 532 14.8 4
T King 34 704 20.7 8
M Brown 27 469 17.4 4
Georgia has 14 different players with receptions and 6 with more than 15.

WR is the easiest position to step into on the field. He's been here since January, he knows how to run the routes, and catching is a natural talent that you either have or don't have.

UGA should not worry for a second about UAs wide outs. They're all overrated.

Blowing a redshirt on a guy that'll be the 3rd option at best doesn't appeal to me.

Agreed. Marvin Shinn has been decent the few times I've watched him play. I've seen him get wide open numerous times only for A.J. to overthrow him. There's no reason he can't get the job done as the #4 receiver.

Bama's receiving corps might be the best in the country next year.
