Heard this last year, scored 36 points, I don't believe you.

Clear consensus among ranters and statistical analysis has Mizzou and UGA by a large margin - please stick to the scope of the thread topic.

Mizzou's got it locked up.

The over simplified answer is this: If Gurley stays healthy then UGA takes the East.

Well he's 50% right now, so I suppose this is the rubber match so to speak. After reading this marvelous thread, I say UGA takes the East. Lone loss to Mizzou on the road, which creates a 3 way tie after UGA beat USC and Mizzou dropped the game at USCe. UGA wins out. Mizzou drops final road game against UT. Carolina appears to be in race, but drops games late to both AU and UF on the road. USCe proceeds to drop the Clemson game to ensure no double digit wins on the year. Spurrier retires, mumbles something about the Auburn game in 2011, the UF game in 2012, and the UT game in 2013.

UGA beats AU for 2nd time in SECCG, sneaks into playoff as 4 seed since there are 3 undefeated teams. Pruitt goes on to steal FSU's offensive signals in 4-1 upset, followed by Richt paying back Meyer for '08 and '09 in title game.

SEC realizes even Spurrier couldn't win championships at USCe and we trade them to the ACC for Clemson.

I don't really know the history of the SEC, but is there a reason that SC was added to the SEC over Clemson, which was far more prestigious and had an athletic program that was light years ahead of SC?

My guess is that UGA and UT just didn't want a team that would ever be competitive, but I'm still learning about the nuts and bolts of this great conference.

As a mizzou fan, I'm feeling pretty confident, but afraid we could turn into what Texas a&m became after this year pending on the development of our young talent. When golden and ray leave it could be rough, but hell, other than ealy no one saw our d-line having the kind of year they had so it could repeat. Hope so ;)

Could really see a lot of this happening, but in this scenario UGA's hopes ride on MU losing on the road at TN. You must have us confused with SC.
Good luck with that.

I'd love to beat Georgia again. This year wasn't enough repayment for 2012

Yeah. So much hype coming into that season and game. I'm normally pessimistic about my team but I genuinely thought we would win that game. We were right there until the 4th quarter and it all fell apart and kinda just set the tone for the whole season. I wanted that game so bad

That a team from west of the Mississippi won the East in the first place still boggles my damned mind. Every time we have this discussion, I have a complete "wtf" moment even after two years.

Yep, but good for us. Easier division to win and easier area to pry recruits out of. Win-win.

An equal question would be why did we add Mizzou instead of FSU,Clemson,or VT

Simple answer? When the SEC was looking for a team in SC we were unaligned with a conference while Clemson was still in the ACC. If Clemson had bolted the ACC when we did (as they were supposed to...) they would probably have been chosen over us.
