I'd say it does make somewhat of a difference. This is the committee saying "this is who we would put in right now", so if they put in Bama instead of Aub at this snapshot in time, I think we all would have some shite to worry about.

Dude shut up, they play in like a month. If Auburn is really better they'll win out until then and beat Alabama for the playoff spot. You're just extremely impatient.

Polls are not purely based on resume.
They are also "who do I actually think is a better team"
And most people (Vegas, Coaches, the media) think Alabama is the best team in the SEC despite anything and everything.

Also, if Auburn were to beat Ole Miss next week, with Bama idle, no doubt Auburn would move ahead of Bama.
