I think those are old numbers. I thought all the Big 6 bowls paid out the same amount.

Sugar and Rose pay out a little more but the other 4 are the same I believe.

As stated they are now on equal footing. The Orange has always been considered better until this year. Now, they are equal.

What? Why?

Because they are all "Playoff Committee Bowls" as the matchups are picked by the committee. They are like the old BCS bowls. The Peach and Cotton joined the party this year.

I guess they are technically equal now, but in the mind of the general public, I think it goes something like this:

New Big 6
Rose

Sugar

Orange

Fiesta & Cotton (prob Fiesta if you are younger, Cotton if you are older b/c it was originally one of the four best)

Peach

Non Big 6

Citrus (until very recently this was better than Peach also, but Peach got into the top 6, and Cotton reclaimed high status after being replaced by Cotton in the BCS)

I would consider the Orange better still, but it sucks in the sense that it is difficult to get to and Miami is expensive as shite. I would be impressed if State brings 15,000 fans. Same as I would be if OM brought the same.

We travel.

They don't.

I'm six hours away from the Peach Bowl and 14 hours away from the Orange, so I won't make it to the Orange even though I can get a ticket for $15 on stubhub.

Other than that, I think they are supposed to be on par with each other now that both are in the rotation. I guess the Orange gets a primetime slot, so I would consider it better this year.

Citrus > Peach in my memory, but moving the bowl in Atlanta up to the big six was a good idea. Sorry Orlando.

Of the other NYD bowls we'd say:

Citrus
Gator/Outback
?

Y'all took about 60 people to the Boise State Kickoff game. It was a strong testament to the Ole Miss traveling prowess.

Old bowl payouts no longer apply. Under the new system schools get paid a certain amount for semi-final games, NCG, New Years Six bowls, regardless of which bowl. The non-playoff alliance bowls may still have payouts like last year. I read the new payouts for CFP bowls will double the take the conferences got under the old system.

Orange Bowl used to be better, Peach Bowl recently got a promotion to Orange Bowl's level.

You can make cobbler out of peaches. And pie. And ice cream.

Peach by a mile.

But oranges are a commodity.

It was also a work/school night. We played Boise on Thursday. Had we played that Saturday I guarantee there would've been a good bit more Ole Miss fans.

It was a week night and the game was a seven hour drive from Oxford. Don't act like State would have packed the house, especially when considering the idiotic University policy that any student that misses a class during the first week of classes is automatically dropped from that class.

It was the first week of classes on campus, douche.

Can't you just pay someone to be in attendance for you?

Orange is paying 27.5 mil while Peach pays 4 mil, so about 23.5 million dollars better

Orange is also paying more than the Sugar Bowl this year. Would you say it's a better bowl than the Sugar Bowl as well?

They are equal bowl games.

On a Thursday night in Atlanta. And we still took around 20-25k. If you don't think we travel well, just ask the Cotton Bowl, Compass Bowl and Music City Bowl. Cotton Bowl we sold out twice and they ran out of beer and most of their concessions in both 2008 and 2009. Compass Bowl sold out of everything and we took around 40k-50k. Music City Bowl we sold way more than our allotment and the concessions almost ran out again even after preparing extra after what happened in the Compass Bowl the year before.

We travel and we travel well. Just not Thursday night games against a team from Idaho to open the season in Atlanta.
