Unless Alleva does the smart thing and makes a hire totally outside the box, this is where things stand amongst the known (per LSixU posters) candidates...

Herman: Less than two years as a HC, had Houston in the top 6 midway through the year until unexpected losses to Navy and SMU derailed championship hopes. Sounds eerily similar to the coach LSixU just fired. Plus, he kisses every damn one of his players. "But he was OC that time Bama lost."

Jimbeaux: Annually underacheives with a powerhouse football school in the ACC. Barely beat an overmatched Miami and perennial good guy Mark Richt, a first year HC. Lost to an overmatched UNC. Blown out by Louisville, who just got blown out by the guy that kisses his players. Lost a close game to Clemson, all while screaming about the refs...which would surely endear him to the LSixU folks.

Petrineaux: The philandering vagabond. Coaching a "generational player", loses a heartbreaker to Clemson. Screams about the lack of respect in the polls and promptly gets smashed on national TV. Engaged in sleazy negotiations once on an airport tarmac...left goodbye notes on the lockers of his NFL players en route to his new job...diddled an intern/prospective new hire and wore a C-collar and Pig hat like a boss.

Orgeron: Native son, beat the hell out of Mizzou and Southern Miss, increased Lynyrd's rushing output against Bama by four yards, yaw yaw yaw.

Lots of pluses for each, lots of negatives, too.

Yes and when LSU first hired Saban everyone laughed because LSU had beat Saban and Mich. ST. in the mighty Independence Bowl a few years earlier. What is your stupid point?

Pretty accurate regarding the negatives. At least yaw yaw threatens to fight his players rather than kissing them
