Does Bama keep a TE in or use Henry to chip Lawson so that he doesnt break DTs record in BDS?

I assumed he would be kicked off the team by then.

While I don't think you can dub any one player as the GOAT in any league, especially the SEC, Derrick Thomas would be as deserving as any.

This.

There is just no realistic way to compare the greatest players across positions. But to say that Thomas is a serious candidate for that label is not a joke. All the people laughing at the thought are immediately suggesting offensive skill players, as if this were a Heisman discussion.

Why? The troubled DEs are at Bama, not Auburn.

Mark Ingram had a higher YPC average and only 7 less TD's with 400 less carries than Walker.

And we all know what the board thinks about Mark Ingram.

Wow, that settles it. HW was nothing special then. You've found the one random stat that proves it

If you'll read my posts in this thread, you'll see I never claimed that.

You're right. Lawson does have a track record of high character.

quote:

According to Mike Farrell of Rivals.com, Carl Lawson, an Auburn defensive end commitment from Alpharetta, Georgia was sent home from Nike’s elite camp, “The Opening,” for what coaches are referring to as “disrespectful behavior.”

How bad do you have to act to get sent home from a camp making money off the exposure of you being there?

As one media member tweeted: “War Damn Trouble.”

Morals aside, Billy Cannon won the Heisman, was an All American, and played both ways practically full time for 3 yrs.

If not greatest overall, is he the consensus greatest SEC defensive player of all time?

he's in the discussion but it's so hard to compare different positions

it isn't a clear cut Jerry Rice GOAT WR situation there have been a lot of bad asses on defense in this conference

So are you going to offer an alternative or just disagree for the sake of not agreeing with Alabama fans.

He didnt ask for one.

But I can think of an SEC player that played the same position, won the same awards but was an All-American three times and not just once so consensus...no.

It does seem fitting that the greatest SEC player of all time was on the defense.

well really Parkjas is just being a bit of a whiny Auburn fan in relation to an over enthusiastic title by a Bama fan about one of our all time greats

which is standard SECrant procedure really

Yep. He was fantastic/superb. However, he's not even the best D player to ever play in the SEC.
