He's right again.

Saban out coached himself by not kicking the fieldgoal at the 13 yard line. It would've take 2 TDs to beat Alabama.

I disagree. Bama had already missed two field goals and had one blocked. Everyone knows a longer field goal comes out at a lower trajectory, so there was a reasonable chance of a block. Plus, a 50+ yard field goal in that situation is a crap-shoot at best.

From the 39 yard line, I would have give McCarron a crack at a hail mary pass in the end zone. There's about as good a chance at getting that completed as kicking a 50+ yard field goal. Otherwise, it's likely just knocked to the ground and you go to OT. Even if it's intercepted, the chances of it being returned for a TD are almost nil, since so many Bama players would already be around the ball.

Bad coaching decision cost him.

And yet another example of an LSU fan calling meltdown when no Alabama fan is melting down in this thread

Gus called a TO to specifically set up the return.

Saban was outcoached. It doesn't happen often.

Bama fans are having a hard time processing it.

True...saban was outcoached on the Coates TD drive though.
^^THIS is my opinion as well. That was purely getting out schemed - not a damn sole was anywhere near Coates.

This makes no sense. Bad coaching decisions are bad coaching decisions hence you lose the coaching battle. Saban made more mistakes than Gus. Gus called a better game.

So yes they got out coached and out executed.

That was my thinking as well. 57 yard FG using a freshman who had what? 3 total fg attempts all season, was a very low percentage move imo.

Saban was outcoached, period.

I'm processing it just fine because it's not like this shite happens regularly for a Saban coached team.

Saban was out coached and out executed. It happens. And he will learn from it. He didn't put personel on the field that could make a play on a kick return. Simple as that. Gus had a play set up to win the game. Saban did not factor it into his gameplan.

The arguement can be made that Saban should have used better coverage personal

I can assure you that Bama players are "properly coached."

Yea, that's why they were standing around watching the ball sail into the endzone instead of getting into position to cover the inevitable run-back.
