When Saban eventually retires, I think we will see the power of the conference dip substantially. The same thing happened when the Bear retired. No longer will we have the great coach of all time roaming the sidelines in our conference and stadiums, no longer will we have the great hatred that fuels the LSU/Bama rivarly. No longer will we have multiple coaches with multiple rings.

By the time Saban leaves, I'm willing to bet OBC and Miles will be gone too. We will literally no have no head coach who has won a championship in the conference unless Gus wins one soon. I've heard rumors that Gus is very interested in the NFL now, after seeing the success that Chip Kelly is having with the Eagles. So his days with Auburn will very likely be short.

Everything that comes up, must come down. The downfall is upon us. I fear for the future.

There is nowhere but back down for Alabama after Saban is gone. It's just a matter of how long it will take before the next great Alabama run. Will it take 10 years, 15 years, 30 years?

Spurrier retiring will actually be the bigger hit.

His dad died when he joined tRant. Then he started posting so he dug him up and cremated him. Ashes spread all over tRant. I don't know what else we could do.

When Saban finally retires, look for Richt and Miles to have a field day. Gus as well.

It'll be better for the conference so other SEC coaches can step up and win.

Gene Chizik and Gus Malzahn have combined to win the same number of SEC titles in the last 4 seasons at AU as saban has in 7 at bama.

Even Miles has the same number of SEC titles as saban since he's been at bama.

I think other coaches are doing just fine.

Randy, we aren't talking about SEC titles. We are talking about the crystal ball. The SEC championship game won't matter as much in 5 years after the downfall.

Also did we forget that the SEC LOST in the championship game in January and ended the streak? That's a sign if I've ever seen it. Its the beginning of the end.

SEC was the top conference before Saban came to LSU.
