All those have meaningless regular seasons. There is really no reason to watch CBB until the tournament unless you're a fan of a bubble team.

Until the media is no longer running college football this will continue to get worse. We are becoming the NFL giving too many teams who are not conference champions a 2nd chance at winning the championship game. Going to an 8 game playoff with only conference champions will revive interest in college football games. There are way too many bowl games meaning going to a bowl game is automatic for any team with a winning or .500 record. What fans want to attend a subpar bowl game each year? Which is what the majority of CF Teams are doing. The media wants the schools with the largest fan base in the playoff every year no matter what.

No, because it would have happened under the BCS era anyway.
Was it?
You don't think 14 would have been FSU vs Bama?

This year woulda been Bama Clemson. Clemson is ranked number 2, OSU was 3
You sure?
Coaches poll had Ohio State at 2 and you don't think the computers would have as well?

they wouldnt' have had a chance under the BCS
I think using the old BCS formula, the title would have been Bama vs OSU

The BCS would have had the wrong teams in the champ every year. At least the playoffs get the right champion
It makes you wonder how many farces we've had as champions the past decade or so
The BCS fuxkkng sucked. I'm glad we have the playoffs

Why do people want to ruin college football's regular season and instead put all the focus on one end of the season tournament?
College basketball has the shittiest, most irrelevant regular season in all of sports.
Not sure why people want to transform the BEST regular season in all of sports to that.
Stop trying to ruin college football so you can fill out your gay little bracket for your office pool.
I'm sorry your team sucks so bad they can't make it unless it includes 400 teams.
I'd rather have 4 months of meaningful games, not 4 weeks.

While I generally agree with you, the theory I proposed is the best team at the end of the year may lose 2 games early while 'figuring it out.' I think it diminishes the regular season so I'm not for it, but teams like PSU and USC this year kind of make it seem not so bad.
Also, they keep saying they will weigh injuries in, but with 4 teams its hard to do that. Like FSU lost their best defensive player in week 2 or 3, but they lost a couple games after that and couldn't recover

Disagree completely
I actually may like CBB more the CFB and my team is garbage in that.

I'm still laughing about FSU/Oregon

South Carolina is a bubble team though, so the regular season is interesting. How many times in the past 20 years has Louisville-UK or UNC-Duke been a truly important game outside of the respective state?

tRant: how many teams should be in the playoffs?
LSU fan: as many as it takes for us to get in.

Look we get your point okay!! No to 6 or 8 or more and a 8-4 team has no business being in the running for a NC. I'm guessing you don't think a 9-7 NFL team has any business being in the running for a SB either?
Believe it or not having more than 4 would make it much more competitive. They're teams out there in the top 10, hell top 15 that would have given Alabama and Clemson more competition than what Ohio St. and Washington/errrrr Michigan St. gave.
I will say though Ohio St. shitting the bed that bad I don't think anyone saw.

Then they wont win a NC, that's the point of the playoff in case you forgot.
If it is a forgone conclusion why would you want the to be in it. If it expands to 16 teams, I can just about guarantee you we will lose 1 game from the regular season.

That argument doesn't work purely because there are so many games in basketball compared to football. You wouldn't argue that the basketball tournament should be smaller, would you?
