In my non biased opinion, the hype came out cause some FSU assistant (whoever it was, don't care) came out and said Coker had a better arm than Winston and bama nation lost its collective mind. It's also in part because we've known for a while now that Sims is average, at best. Appears to practice well but sucks in game situations.

Bama fans should care as that assistant was Randy Sanders.

Lol "involved in" clearly implies appeared in. How typical.

Only an auburn fan would play these kind of semantics to escape the truth...auburn can't make it to the ship without a JUCO QB. Like the others have said, it's nothing to be ashamed of. But it's still the truth ;)

Why do you care so much?

Auburn did it in 2004 without a JuCo quarterback, BTW.

What's funny is we're not even claiming he will be good, just that he has the potential to be.

So he had surgery just for fun

It was a torn meniscus. If you think that'd actually have long term effects on him

Derek Rose disagrees with this.
Especially since Coker got injured by non contact

Just means he is weak and feeble

pump the breaks... why would you guys have been saying things like..

100% sure that'll be the case. Let's hope Coker is half as good as we're hyping him up to be, because if not, we're in trouble.

I just hope he doesn't have to crawl off the field in someone else's stadium. Mett showed guts in getting up and walking off like a boss, though. Gotta applaud that.

Because the perception is that we're hyping him to be the GOAT, when we're not. So whoever said "half as good as we're hyping him up to be" is confused by perception, not his own expectations.

Non-contact knee injuries aren't a great sign but QBs - anyone not dependent on cuts - can play with torn knee ligaments. After the initial pain/pop, you can still walk and run - just can't make cuts very well. Still, coming off a non-contact knee injury/surgery players tend to be more timid than they need to be and that aspect tends to be more psychological than anything else.
