When you blow out an instate rival running 2 plays with 35 less schollies some opinions begin to swing that way

The Bottom 6 in 5 yearsAssuming the conference stays at 14 teams (which it probably won't) My opinion: 09) Tennessee - I think UT will improve but they have regressed too far to catch up quickly. 10) Mississippi State - Because frick Mississippi State 11) Auburn - Terrible administration will finally catch up with this proud program. 12) Vandy - Franklin will be gone soon and while the program will be a smidge better for the wear, it will be a quick return to mediocrity. 13) Missouri - Program will make its mark in basketball but will struggle to compete in football due to poor recruiting and general wussitude. 14) Kentucky - Basketball school that will always struggle to compete in football.

OK here's my list for the crap6 going forward for the next 5 years:

09) AU- a Big 6 Member and a Crap6 member at the same time, very special bunch on the plains
10) Ole Miss
11) MSSTATE
12) MO Tigers
13) Vandy- Franklin will leave
14) Kentucky- no real debate on this one.

I just reached the end of page two, so apologies if some of this has already been brought up, but:

1) Tubs was fired because he quit when Saban came to Tuscaloosa. He gave up on recruiting, spent most of his offseason in a duck blind in Arkansas, and never would cut ties the barbeque buddies he put on the coaching staff. He lost his fire. I've got some mutual friends of the family who say they saw him around a whole lot more the last year or two he was here than any time before that. Can't blame him for wanting to spend time with his family, but when he's not getting the job done, then he's not getting the job done.

2) Chizik was fired - and the Malzahn hire only reinforces this hypothesis - because it became increasingly clear that he wasn't the reason behind the national championship, and when the guys keeping him afloat left (Malzahn, Rocker, Fairley, and Cam), he sank like a rock. Going winless in the conference is inexcusable regardless of the circumstances, but the fact that said circumstances stacked up against him only provided more grounds for his termination.

3) Jacobs will be gone very soon. He called in some favors to some big boosters that let him keep his job until he gets his 25 years in sometime this spring. He's a terrible AD, but a good enough guy and we'll see a new face running the athletic department here before too long.

4) Malzahn has proven he is running the place. He had already fired all of Chizik's coaches, and today he released all but two members of the remaining support staff. He's cleaning as much of the house as he's allowed to, which is exactly what this program needs. Even Yoxall (who was the strength & conditioning coach for the entire athletic department, not just football) was let go.

Please tell me exactly how this is in ANY way different than what you did to Cutcliffe -- The guy who went 44-29(29-23) at Ole Miss? He won consecutive 7, 7, 7, 10 at OM and throws up a single 4-win season the year after Eli graduates and is run out of town? Pot meet kettle on this one.

It's honestly the exact same the way I look at it. It was an overreaction from both schools to one bad season.

hard to predict what a program will look like in 5 years, especially after seeing the quick turnaround OM is in the process of making.
uprooting the good ol boy network, installing a competent administration, and finding the right coach for your program does wonders.

Every team on your list with the exception of Kentucky has more SEC wins that OM has had since 2009. I think that clearly puts Ole Miss as #7, clearly in the bottom of the seller in the west.

Ole Miss has ONE 6-6 season and you think things are really look up for you guys that much.... Over the last 30 years Auburn has had more undefeated seasons than anyone... every program can have a down cycle, but you guys never have an up cycle.

Pretty much what I was going to say.
