I think afterwards the powers that be that brokered this deal will realize they would have been served focusing on other venues. Hell go play in Yankee/Fenway Park.

Very impressive. Based on that picture, if Neyland holds 103,000, then Bristol should hold 300K. I guess the rumor of the seats being that close together are true?

It's pretty bad. Especially when you're sitting next to Lulu and Junior.

I watched a Celtics/Knicks game from the mezzaine at the old Madison Square Garden once. It looked like ants playing basketball.

Come to Rupp. MSG holds 18,600. We hold 24,000.

I assume that was just an artist rendition.

The jumbotron was raised a lot higher during the Spring races than what you see in the promotional images. Pretty amazing when you see it in person.

I sat right about here during the Saturday race

and the view was not that bad at all. Now someone on the other end, all the way up in the nosebleed seats might have a problem.

They had bigger ones in Jerryworld back in 2014.
79,238 - final
79,444 - semifinals
Kentucky was in both of those games as well. So we hold the records for the top 3 all time attended basketball games in history at any level of competition.

Yup, was in the Donnie Allison stand for the Saturday race, and there was no difference between that and sitting in the upper deck at Neyland. Was about 70 rows up as well, the only place there will be viewing issues is deep in the turns. Think people are underestimating how large the screen is as well.

Personally I think it's great that y'all did this with Virginia Tech. Perhaps getting Kentucky, West Virginia, North Carolina, etc involved in some sort of annual Appalachian series would be cool for everyone in the area.

They should do this at Talladega. Have 3 fields,
GA vs FL, Bama vs UT and LSU vs AUB.. Run the race at the same time along with a few rednecky concerts playing in between. Flyovers every 15 minutes..

The novelty of having a game at Bristol every year would wear off, but I've always been surprised we don't play the Virginia and NC schools more regularly.

Not much of a recruiting benefit and the one big boy we schedule each year we try to aim a little higher.

As long as they drive the big truck with the 'Merican Flag around during the national anthem, I'm good with this.

Only if the Mississippi schools play the same weekend at a pig farming and tractor pull competition.

Edit: so I guess that means the Miss Mississippi Beauty Pageant.

You can frick someone and still think you're inherently superior to them. Just ask my ex girlfriend.

Serious question(s). How is the seating going to be in such a cavernous venue? It will be cool to say you went there but are you going to be able to even see the game? I have never been there but I would assume there would have to be some jumbotron situation to be able to see what is actually going on during play. It seems like if you didn't have sideline seating you may be in for a crap show.
