31 points at halftime... granted, turnovers played a part, but OU still had to make plays to get in the endzone.

AJ made a terrible decision on the first pick... tripple coverage... the other pick looked like miscommunication (threw a slant when the WR hitched/hooked)... still shouldn't have been thrown, but stuff happens.

Defense and special teams have more to blame for the two bama losses than nussmeier, imo.

Of course the defense and turnovers were the biggest difference, but there was plenty of bad to go around and Nuss was his usual stubborn self, adhering to the balance philosophy at all costs.

Weren't Alabama fans looking forward to a more pass orientated offense? I remember reading all off-season how AJ McCarron was the best quarterback in the SEC, and how Alabama had the best set of wide receiver they had ever had (which was also a top 5 set of wide receiver in the country).

I think we'll see Alabama go back to trying to pound the ball next year due to having a new quarterback. We're going to have to see how the offensive line performs though, because they weren't that great this year.

I think Yeldon fumbled himself into a battle for 2nd string next season. It's going to be a very interesting season.....It kind of sucks not knowing at all who the starting QB is going to be though.

I see Derrick Henry being the starter next year. TBH, I'm really not sure where that leaves TJ Yeldon and Kenyan Drake on the depth chart. Altee Tenpenny and Tyren Jones would love a shot at seeing some carries, I'm sure.

Yeah..it's pretty clear that Henry is miles ahead of the next guy. I would honestly love to see Drake clean up his fumbling habits and spell Henry. I think that would be a pretty potent 1 - 2 punch. I'm so sick of Yeldon......he fumbles at the worst times and it has really cost us games this year.

just my opinion, but Nuss is probably a bit of a square peg/round hole situation with Saban... he probably wants to be more like what Sark has done at Washington the last couple years... more open, but still have the power run game when needed.

Very true, especially since Henry went beast mode in the second half last night.

Saban is from the Belichick tree, and Belichick is probably the most unforgiving pro coach when it comes to fumbles, and it's why Stevan Ridley spends a lot of post-fumble time on the bench despite being their best back.

Bama lost b/c the defense wasn't ready for Knight in the first half and b/c of stupid turnovers by AJ and TJ.

Blaming the play calling is dumb. Nuss didn't make AJ throw shitty passes or TJ fumble in the red zone. That was simply the Bama players failing to execute properly.

Where did I ever say Alabama lost primarily due to play calling?

There were numerous factors that went into it, obviously the turnovers were the biggest part.

The play calling was still absolute garbage though.

Believe it or not, those things aren't mutually exclusive.

You can have bad play calling AND misexuction and turnovers on the plays you do call.

The thread is about why your OC sucks.

They didn't lose b/c of play calling which is pretty much the only thing he controls.

Bama lost b/c AJ shite the bed w/3 turnovers all of which were awful and on him, TJ fumbling in the red zone, and the Bama D being unprepared for the right QB.

Do you really think if Saban wanted to go heavy run game he couldn't have just told Nuss? You are really bitching about the offense and claiming the play calling was bad when they put up 31 points w/4 turnovers (all individual mistakes that had nothing to do with the OC) and a 5th on special teams?

Really?
