To correct your ignorant sisterfricker statement it should be:

OU/Alabama
tOSU
ND
USC
Nebraska.

You just made up the word "sisterfricker", yet I am the ignorant one?

So this has nothing to do with wins, losses? Only times they were in AP's poll's? Or were awarded a championship by the AP? Just trying to understand how this was reached.

NVM...confusing as hell...not worth it.
List is shite.

Wouldn't this just mean that OSU and Okie are a bit overrated?
OSU - #1 in weeks at #1 - 105
Titles - 5
Avg - 21 weeks at #1 for every title
Okie - #2 in weeks at #1 - 100.5
Titles - 7
Avg - 14.35 weeks per title

Then we have Alabama
Weeks at #1 - 74
Titles - 10
Avg - 7.4 weeks per title

Despite being the most successful program to date, Alabama is routinely underestimated by the AP.

VOLS at 14 is a joke.

Well y'all aren't top 10 in AP titles, #17 in weeks atop the poll, and #11 in total appearances.

I think you could definitely make a case that they're often overrated in the AP poll.

This formula values consistency a lot and punishes bad stretches.

Ohio State worse run
1940s appeared in 55.68% of polls

Alabama worse run
1950s appeared in 18.97% of polls.

Alabama is weird program among the blue bloods. Alabama will be an unstoppable forces for 10-20 years then decide to take break for 5-10 years.

*Updated some of the wording

It's apples and oranges. Consistency is weighted heavily so Alabama has a couple pretty bad decades whereas tOSU and OU have only had roughly 1 bad 10 year stretch. This ranking has a pretty modern twist to it. Imagine where Bama would be ranked without the last 3 titles.

So based on that formula does this mean that USC gets more points* than Texas in 2005?

Top 5 is still good enough for me.
That's suspect to have FSU and Florida in the top 10 though.

The only thing we lack over other programs on this list is raw win totals. They tried their best to adjust the polls based on the fact Miami and FSU didn't start football as early as the other programs on the list.

The only programs I would put above us is LSU due to 2003 bullshite.

As for the Gators

Could mean a number of things. Could mean Alabama is underrated. Could mean OSU lost later in the year often when other teams lost earlier so OSU went to #1 by default. Could mean OSU is overrated
