#1 Offensive Line. If we can't run the football, we can't win the conference (regardless of who is throwing the football).

Is changing over 3 starting offensive linemen an improvement over last season? A stalemate? Or are we kidding ourselves. If I had to guess... the OL should at least be the same as last season (better talent this year, hopefully healthier, unfortunately less experienced in the group and younger at guard).

Agreed. This is 1, 2, and 3 for me. It is every year until I see us field a good OL.

As for the changeover...I really don't see how it is a drawback, Gates is not irreplaceable and the other two are some of the most inconsistent OL I've ever seen play. We are DEFINITELY upgrading all three of those spots where talent is concerned, but it is a step back experience wise. Hopefully the new guys learn quick and OL is a strength this year, we could really use it.

As for the D: our DL is deep, talented and well-coached, we have one of the better LB corps in the nation and as for the secondary, Pruitt .

Hutson will be good enough. I don't expect Murray or Shockley, but I don't expect Cox either.

Yeah. Gates was a 3 star that we stole at the last minute from Kentucky. He reached his potential early and never progressed from there. Couldn't even hold down the left tackle job as a senior.

Burnette was supposed to be a rock star last season. Preseason All SEC. But he had surgery in the offseason and insiders told me he played hurt all year.

The other guard spot was nothing special all year even having the starting job taken by a true freshman who was in over his head (and couldn't hold up to his man in the Nebraska game).

As for the D:

Defense will be fine. We're going to get smaller, quicker, and attack the line of scrimmage with 5 guys (Grantham stuck with 4 men pressing the line while in nickel and we just sucked balls for the last couple of seasons against the spread).

Pruitt will attempt to own the line of scrimmage. 7 to 8 guys in the box and sending a variety of 5 on almost every 1st and 2nd down. We might give up some big plays... but OLs are going to have hell week when they play us. Fast and confusing and gunning for turnovers.
