I think too many LSU fans are delusional but not about the quality of their open position- they are delusional about the money. No one in recent history has just money-whipped they coach they want. Each major hire recently has been a guy who wanted the job because the money was assumed. This whole "our big money guys will get whoever they want" is the same hubris that Texas fans got caught up in.
Any coach looking at this job has to see his boss will be a retard (Joe), state politics interfere with football decisions, and the division has the GOAT coach in it. Maybe for some the recruiting base and the fanbase is good enough to overcome that, but they money won't be the difference maker.
