How is playing a top 20 team at a neutral site with the second best defensive minded coach in the nation not a good win?

Wait why was a 7-6 tcu team ranked 20th but a 7-6 ole miss was unranked?

In all seriousness, the SEC took a step back in media perception today and for people like Dan Lebiatard and Bruce Feldman, they'll just keep sunshine pumping Ohio State. Not that I care, but that is what will happen for a few weeks.

ETA: oh and of course Clemson, they'll probably be the new media darlings till they lose to NC State or some average team.

It's not a big deal.

If people wrote a script for this upcoming season, it had to involve shitting on the SEC for most of the season just to make the climax exciting when the SEC wins, yet again.

If y'all look between the lines of my thread title and OP you'll realize the truth that I speak...that perception is everything and the SEC haters (media) will use close games and losses as ammunition to attack the SEC's status as the best conference in the country.

Of course the SEC will win it again. And of course the butthurt sports writers' opinions don't matter. I'm just saying no SEC team dominated anyone today that was a halfway decent team.

That's mean, Elleshoe. No reason to be rude during a friendly debate.

How mad does it make you that we get the same sized check from the conference at the end of the year?

Go into detail, please.

I'm happy to have a win against a good team in a season opener. Hopefully LSU improves some in all three aspects of the game over the next few weeks but TCU is a pretty solid team to beat in an opener closer to their home than ours.

UGA should have found a way to beat Clemson but holy hell does their reaction to winning the game spell bad things down the road. For pete's sake they were at home and are a top ten team. Winning a game like that is a great first step but the whole crowd seemed to think they were going to Disney. UGA can still recover and even achieve all of their goals if they improve

I don't care what Mizzou did or didn't do today. We took care of business like men. We're moving on.

Thank you for the full conference membership and the riches we now receive, which means a bit less for everyone else.
