In Texas, each university system has a Board of Regents, which sets policy for the various universities and other organizations until its control.
Gene Stallings, the former Texas A&M and Alabama head coach, was a regent on the Texas A&M University System Board. (Remember, he was reported to be highly influential in convincing A&M not to move to the PAC during the 2010 realignment shuffle, ultimately paving the way for A&M's 2011 move to the SEC.)
