Texas really has decided they are an SEC Team, how cute

Mack "Buttertooth" Brown has been on his PR campaign to counter A&M's move to the SEC with his "We are really an SEC team too!" idiocy. Who knew you could be an SEC school without actually having to play SEC teams (oh, except Ole Miss) Latest example:
Sip penis envy

Ever since Brown had coached on that same stage two years before and watched Colt McCoy get injured in the first quarter of a national championship game loss to Alabama, this is the identity he'd yearned for the Texas Longhorns to achieve.
He'd been admittedly slow in recognizing the dramatic steps his team would need to take to get there. He'd been forced to endure the most miserable season of his career, and then to tear down and rebuild a program that had spent a decade at the top of its sport. And on the evening of last Jan. 9, he was not yet where Alabama and LSU were.
But he felt he was getting closer.
quote:
So in a year in which UT's rival made all the headlines for leaving the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference, the key to the Longhorns' chances of winning their league could be how effective they are in bringing the SEC to the Big 12.
The blueprint is there, and if any Big 12 team has the on-field personality of the league that's won the last six national titles, it's the Longhorns.

Mack Browns's anus is still swollen

That read as "we have no QB. I hope we can win without one"

The Bama loss really did frick his world up. He was planning on retiring after winning that game. Now he has too much ego to step down not on top. It'll be another year or two more of mediocre football before he's forced to retire

The thing about Mack is he never really got questioned about having McCoy running with the ball against Alabama. With no backup QB and so early in the game, it seemed pretty stupid...

Where in the article did Mack say "We are an SEC team?"
Quit obsessing over UT.

Texas is UTx or Tejas...
Tennessee is UT. Get it right.

If Texas had balls, they would can Mack and hire Patrino. Although, I do not like Texas and would hate to see what Patrino could do at a level one school.

It's been the tu line for about 2 weeks now. Every article printed claims that they are "like an SEC team" or "play SEC style ball". It's pretty pathetic and transparent but the media laps it up and never calls them on it

Well give another example, because the line in that article was written by the journalist, and was not a quote of Brown.
Also, can you blame Mack for imitating success?

i know you don't quite understand yet but in this conference, we don't give a f&%k about Texas.

I'm not being flamed or trolled on Sunday on a thread about tu. I just don't care enough. If you're really curious a few minutes on google will do the trick

Aggies
Even us Hog fans know to keep our Texas hate on Arkansas boards because the rest of the SEC doesn't give a shite about Texas.

I follow Texas very closely,, particularly for recruiting purposes, and they are building an SEC type squad. They're building around the power run, big powerful OL, athletic, big DL, and bigger, more athletic, well coached DBs. Their problem thus far, qb. They look and play like an SEC team and pretty much are coached by SEC style coaches. Diaz, Davis, Searels and Applwhite(shortly) were all SEC coaches and play with the SEC style. Their offense will be more similar to UF's under Meyer(not exactly the spread/read option but with sets including it). It's a winning formula in the Big 12 with all the soft defenses and air attack offenses.
I despise the Longhorns(aside from some of the fans) but TAM should follow their plan if they want to be succesful in the SEC. That wide open attack isn't going to work against the top defenses in the conference. The defense, well, that's a much larger conversation.

Spread offenses work pretty well against NFL defenses. Belicheck, possibly the best defensive mind in the game, runs a spread offense. As do the Saints and Packers who also have recent Super Bowls.
The game is evolving.

Also, that great Texas SEC style D gave up 55 points to Oklahoma and 48 to Baylor. Does anybody think an elite SEC D gives up that many points to Baylor and OU? Or almost 40 to Ok St?
A&M's D gave up fewer points to all 3 of those teams
