I'm pretty sure they want LSU vs Texas A&M, and Alabama to the Cap 1 vs Michigan State. We were in that bowl last year, and they probably don't want us 2 years in a row.

yes. 2011 LSU vs Oregon in Jerryworld. I'm not making the bowl game, but I will be in Cowboys Stadium next year to see us play Oregon.

This is the only reason I think the decision isn't just obvious about who goes where. It's hard to say that the Capital One won't choose LSU twice, but then skip over the fact that the Cotton Bowl folks will have LSU play there twice. Something has to give, lol.

Cotton Bowl official is quoted as saying the Cotton Bowl is not even considering LSU opening with Oregon in 2011...he said the Cotton Bowl has nothing to do with that game (the season opener), and wants only what is best for the Cotton Bowl.

bingo. LSU fans want nothing to do with the Cap1 after last year's experience.
Add in to that the fact that the Cap1 bowl is played in arguably the worst neighborhood and stadium in the entire bowl lineup, and we are all against a return trip to Cap1.
i think it's a win-win for everyone...Bama gets a better bowl than they deserve (Cap1) and LSU gets Cotton and doesn't have to do 2 consecutive trips to the Cap1.
