I take it they print cups for every little achievement since I see that quoted on here a lot.

Like it or not soccer is the most popular sport in the world, with over 3.5 billion fans. Our national pastime, by comparison, has about 500 million fans. Brazil's national team is one of the top three most popular in the world. A soccer game between Brazil and Mexico in Texas will be an easy sell out.
I saw a study on Southern culture that said soccer would quickly become the predominant sport in the South as much of the region would evolve into a Hispanic-centric culture.

Makes sense. Aggy athletic leadership is thinking....

We suck at football
We suck at baseball
We suck at basketball
We are good at male cheering

What about soccer?

I don't know about that but there is a large contingent of soccer fans in the south just like everywhere else in the world. My brother in law played in college and is a huge fan. He also coaches a high school team. I don't care to watch it but there's no denying that it's popular world wide.

Does A&M realize that “Brazilian Butt” is about the females, not the men ?

Other than being the worst fanbase in the Western hemisphere. The Tennessee Ole Miss trash debacle happens every time they lose

The Dixie Chicken better stock up on Bud Light. It’s the number 1 beer in Mexico.

Also, would greatly appreciate some mariachi bands. I would totally dress as three amigos.

I assume our field is big enough (soccer fields are bigger than football fields).

Width is the biggest issue for a lot of football fields to host official international soccer competitions. I think preferred width is like 20 something yards wider than a football field (can be even larger). With endzones the length of the field is good enough for most competitions.

I don’t think exhibitions have the same requirements.

Lol we’ve reached the aggie desperation where they’re crowing about their ranking in baseball less than 10% through the regular season

At least a&m has a history of winning championships in that sport and didn’t just complete a season where they were preseason top 5 only to finish unranked, right? Right??

I think he’s talking about the last World Cup.

Shouldn’t this be on the Soccer Board?

Spot on.

I like it, like that they’re branching out and bringing different kinds of events to College Station. I’m definitely interested in the George Strait concert if they do make that happen.

I guarantee you those fanbases won’t give two shits about stepping on the sacred grass at the student union.
