I'm not overwhelmed by his press conferences. Not the best ever "savior" type of hire. But to echo what other Ags are saying, we need more experience and solid play calling. So we expect that to be improved. And we need stability with a coach who doesn't mismanage the QBs.
If he does those things well, then we should be alright. Coach Sumlin seems to think he is a good fit.

just wish it was 5pm.
That is what I am looking forward to, an actual home field advantage thanks to Texas heat.

how happy are you with Noel Mazzone hire? For most UCLA fans I would say his departure was 70-30 happy to see him go.
He wasn't everyone's first choice, but he is a safe pick. He inconstantly did good (not great) at ASU & UCLA. He has a relationship with Sumlin and runs the type of offense Sumlin is most familiar with.
As far as what he has done so far? Well not much. Its the damn offseason. He did stabilize the QB situation. He's reeled in a ton and his impending hire back in Jan helped seal the Knight transfer too.
So overall hard to not be pleased, but we will find out in a few weeks. Like most said, he is a large upgrade over Spav.

not sure about superior talent, I will say Kirk is probably better than any WR UCLA had but the ones we had had great hands and were tough. As far as QBs Aggies are lacking compared to Rosen and Hundley. I do hope he works out for the Aggies. Mazzone for his flaws is a good likable guy. I will say this you will need some go to WRs who can catch and hold onto the ball.
Don't look at last years defensive states lost Miles Jack and Vanderdoes early plus many other injuries to what should have been all conference defense. So don't let that full you. Our OL is where we are weakest due to depth, Saturdays weather no looking to bad only 90 w/20% humidity.

That may be one of the coolest openers we've had in a long time.

I expect a lot of defense in this game.

Nah, that time of day the humidity will be around 60% with no wind. It will be glorious.

I promise you the humidity will be way higher than 20%. More like 70%.

buzz kill! you are correct with rain for Friday, than again Monday. Humidity is expected to be 66% damn that is rough.
does UCLA have to supply their own IV's? Most of our players are not use to that. Hopefully Mora will have a ice baths on the side lines as well as cold IV. that humidity alone is worth 3 pts if not more. In Westwood they are free from monsoon season, where I live we do get some but not for a few more weeks. Even than not more the 20-30% humidity that will be a real issue.

We are going to have fans falling out from heat exhaustion Saturday. Should be prepared for brutal heat.
Kyle Field playing surface is excavated out to be 10 feet below grade level. No cooling breeze.
I was in San Bernadino last week, no comparison as far as the heat factor in College Station.

Trust me, it's going to be hot and humid. I think it's suppose to feel around 103 or 105. There will be some cramping.

Per weather.com the temperature is predicted to be 90 degrees F with 70% humidity.
This calculates out to 105.9 deg F heat index.
However, none of this accounts for the solar oven design of Kyle Field which makes it worse.

You bunch of pussies. It's been a very cool August in BCS. Nothing to complain about from a heat perspective.

He's got a lot of talent at WR. He has more options than he may have had at other schools. But, the jury is still out.
