But this Brunnin guy has been full on dumbass on this thread. No knock on LSU, just this guy who probably never went to LSU (not that there's anything wrong with that)

What egregious errors have I been making? Even though it's silly that I have to defend myself like this, I will say that I am currently attending LSU.

Wow, that escalated quickly... Methinks you are reading a little too much into it.

I actually wasn't making a comparison between A&M and LSU RBs. I was just comparing A&M's 2013 RBs to 2012.

I just think that A&M doesn't need JFF to be as dynamic as last year because we should be able to run the ball. JFF might get better at passing in the pocket, so if he is getting the ball out quicker, he might not be scrambling for as many yards and tds as last year. Stats are secondary to team success.

Didn't Louisiana Tech pass for like 500 yards against your secondary

We had players suspended that game. It was an anomaly. And agreed that SEC didn't exploit our secondary as much as the B12 had in previous years.

quote:

I think your offense will drop a little from last year. Yall lose 2 offensive lineman and Ryan Swope. Plus, the SEC will not be surprised this season by your "Big 12" style offense. The defenses will be ready for JFF. Still might not stop him but they will slow him down better.

Line will be still among best in the nation a step below where it was last year. A very small step. The C is replaced by another Matthews. RT J Mathews moves to LT, LG Ogbuehi moves to RT (natural T and will be LT next year. Some have long believed he could have most upside of Joeckel, Matthews, and he) and we'll insert a new starter at LG.

At WR we'll be green. But there's a lot of talent there.

And I put 0 credence into teams being ready for Johnny this time around. You just can't mimic him in practice unless you put Brett Favre on a motorcycle, as one coach put it. He's just going to be a thorn this year and then in 2014 everybody will take their frustrations out on our new QB

FTR I think Manziel drops off a little, but will still finish as statistically the best or 2nd best QB in the SEC next year.

No, you misunderstood me and took it in an diferent direction.

And the next thing i know the thread is 4 pages longer debating whose RBs were beter, when that wasn't my point.

but its all good

yea, you missed a nice little discussion.

But my bad if I misread. I just read it, and took it for what it said.

The LSU fan sitting next to me at the A&M game told me he thought Mett was better than Manziel and would trade QBs

Can you blame him based on that game? LSU made Manziel look terrible to the tune of 0tds/3ints.

but yeah, put me in the camp that believes that it it is not necessarily a bad thing if JFFs numbers drop off slightly. I think it just means we could be running the ball more efficiently

It was like Week 7. Was he sleeping Weeks 1-6 when Johnny had the two most prolific offensive days in SEC history and was SEC POW like 3 times and SEC FOW about 4 times?

JFF's number dropping slightly would be a good thing, that doesn't mean he is getting shut-down or that A&M's offense is a gimmick that has been figured out.

Just means the productivity is getting spread around, which can only be a good thing for A&M.

I think next year: A&M>LSU

The only thing not sub-par at LSU is the golf team

Damn I'm excited for this game already

Only thing I have to add is that had A&M played LSU or Florida towards the back end of the schedule last year, they very well may have beat them as bad as they did damn near everyone else. Course that also means they may have dropped a game against LaTech or Ole Miss, but if A&M is able to get rolling on offense at the rate they did to finish last year, this game in BR will be fantastic.

Well, you guys had a pretty cup cake schedule once you got past LSU. Auburn, Missouri, Sam Houston State, Miss State. All of these teams were not very good.

The only tough game yall played was Bama and that one could have gone either way. LSU and Georgia both should have beaten Bama last year but those games went Bama's way.

Then yall played Oklahoma which was a team made for Texas A&M to beat. Oklahoma had a cup cake defense that JFF could exploit. But down the stretch I felt like yalls defense did play better. But A&M's defense played this way against LSU too.

I wouldn't get too confident about coming into TS and beating LSU.

I don't know if we will or not, but I know for sure that we can. I think our defense is good enough to keep Mett from doing much, he pretty much defends himself. If JFF can avoid turnovers and Bertolet dies in a fire before game time we will take it.
