If I was an A&M fan, I would be soooooo pisse!!! You guys finally have an awesome team and you would have rolled the Big XII undefeated for sure for a berth in the BCSNCG against ND....instead you joined the SEC and had to play a bunch of good teams, lost 2 games and now you are in the Cotton Bowl!!!

meh

1) frick the Big 12. SEC >>> in all aspects

2) Cap One reps were at the game tonight

A&M proved is that high powered offenses can compete in the SEC, notwithstanding popular opinion among SEC fans (myself included) before this year

How many times does a team like Oregon have to be beaten by the SEC before we all realize that it's possible to compete in the SEC with a high flying offense, but you won't reach the highest level until you get a defense?

ETA: The ONLY exception was Auburn when they had Cam.

Both the OL tackles are juniors. Don't know whether they've decided to declare yet.

I'm a realist for us to be truly competitive in the SEC we need more depth everywhere and a stronger defense, that being said congrats to this years team for an awesome season

We have 3 Juniors who could be first rd draft picks. I think one, maybe 2 stay. All 3 stay and we are top 5 next year.
No disrespect, but right now we beat Florida 9/10 times and LSU 7/10 times. Bama is still a coin flip.

People keep saying their teams have seen Manziel now and he won't be as good next year. Jff couldn't have thrown a long ball vs Florida in the first game to save his life. Now A&M is top 2 in nation with 30+yd plays. Barring injuries, this team is scarily getting better with every game. QB/WRs/RBs are scary good and very young.

If we bring back 2/3 or Joeckal, Matthews and Moore we'll be as good as anyone in the country next year.

The thing most people dont realize is that we just went 10-2 in the SEC with absolutely NO depth at defense. A&M essentially played 13 guys on defense all year when games werent out of hand. We have a ton of redshirts and true freshmen coming in next year expected to add depth. With a solid defense, this team under Manziel will be as tough to beat as anyone.

If you begin expecting better results by simply turning over the calendar, you will find disappointment. All 14 teams in the SEC will look to improve, not just A&M. Sustaining success is the key to any program. Arkansas thought they were close to becoming a perennial power...they fell. Auburn went undefeated two years ago...they fell. Florida won 2 out of 3 BCS titles...it took them a couple years to find their way back. Tennessee is a laughing stock.

It takes time to gain enough traction to compete every year.

A&M, sans any defensive depth whatsoever, finished this season with the following SEC defensive ranks:

3rd in sacks
6th in total defense
5th in scoring defense

We held Alabama to their second lowest rushing total in two years and, aisde from one bad half against La. Tech, shut down almost every team we played in meaningful game time.

Had our starters not been benched for shitty second stringers in the second half of half our games, we would have easily finished ahead of every but LSU and Bama in total defense. Our first half defense ranked 9th in the nation.

Where did you find this stat?

So yall were middle of the pack in the SEC.

Look, I'm not saying yall were bad. Quite the opposite. Yall just need to get better on defense if yall want to win the SEC.

I think you COULD have a bright future, but competing with Alabama and LSU in the West every year will make things very difficult IMO.

Ummm, things don't usually look too bright for your boys after the first quarter in meaningful games... they usually derp around after putting up 14 to 20 in the first.

With Sumlin recruiting, I'm not worried about increasing our talent level and depth.

Come on dude, we "derped around" in exactly 2 2nd halves: Florida and LSU. Florida was our first game of the year and our offensive execution was crap, which wasn't surprising considering we had new coaches, new schemes, a new qb, etc. Our offense is orders of magnitude better now than it was in game 1.

LSU's a better example, but even there we moved the ball some in the second half. Yea we didn't get many points because of 2 dumb TOs and 2 missed FGs, but we weren't completely shut down; we had opportunities. Clean up some crap and we probably get 10-17 in the 2nd half of that game instead of 7, and even 10 isn't a bad half against a top 5 defense.

And yet, TAMU was leading 17-7.
Second half came, and you guys got 60 total yards and 3 first downs. Game, blouses. 20-17.
Just accept it as loss. Y'all got beat by a better team that day. McCray and Easley was all in Johnny football's grill. Roberson and Co. made a no fly zone in the 2nd half.
Ain't no delusion like aggy delusion.
