He also gets to anally penetrate every incoming male freshman IIRC but that might expire after this year

Don't believe its 50 anymore, but yes, it is a very large amount of money in a very short period of time.

I respect A&M for embracing a joke but you might have gone too far

I hate to reply with a serious answer, but he signed a 6 year, 30 million dollar contract that began on Jan 1st, 2014. The 30 million is guaranteed. If we fire him without cause, it says we'll pay the full contract amount within some fairly short timeframe. But we'll be three years into that at the end of this season, so it would cost us 15 million to fire him, assuming it was without cause.

At least, that's how I understand things.

Not even close.

They owe him the remainder of the contract, which is through the 2019 season at 5 million/year.

After the 2016 season, that's FIFTEEN million, not FIFTY.

That's about the same amount that your athletics department owes to the academic administration for the bailout a few years ago (actually, two bailouts).

Bet they won't be happy if/when they buy out Sumlin and continue to stiff the administration.

But make no mistake, they want their frickin' money.

quote:

Now, while continuing to let the athletics department repay the loan at a rate of about $1.6 million a year, Toole said university officials have told the athletics department that it will be expected to begin sending additional money back to the school’s general fund.
