Also, on January 15th 2013, the high in Knoxville was 55 degrees, on the other hand, the high in TTown was 46 degrees. So...

One of the reasons, I believe it will take a while for Ut to make it back. You're gonna have to recruit nationally like ND. And to do that you have to start winning some big games. I think B. Jones is a pretty good coach, but you can't win in the SEC without great talent.

A state-by-state breakdown of Division I FBS signees

Florida 344
Louisiana 87
Georgia 170
Alabama 86

Tennessee 44

Sorry but Knoxville is a much better city than most SEC farm towns you try to pass off as cities. Bigger and more to do - and you really think Atlanta being two hours away makes it sexy? Lmao. Half these kids are too poor to afford cars. Plus Knoxville is a more central location to all the major cities in the region than any other city.

sounds like you get out a lot. Knoxville is a shithole of shitholes from the SEC town I have been to. And I have been to a lot of them. I go to Knoxville quite a bit and regret it every time

All Tennessee needs is a coach. Maybe they have one, maybe they don't. If they do, and he stays, it won't take long (2-3 years) before they're competing for the East title again IMO.

Tennessee will have to lock down their in-state talent and start signing twice the number of 4 star recruits to 3 star recruits. If they can do that, they will be back.

Until then, good luck beating Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Bama every year.

Don't make me defend an auburn fan from the NE. That would be painful.

Having traveled extensively and going to every SEC town it is sad to admit that in my humble opinion Knoxville is the best SEC town. The issue is, that is what they all are, small cow towns.

When Tennessee stops posing for these stupid pictures, I'll believe that they may have a chance to come back. Until then...........um, no.

hich is a great selling point for family vacations, not so much for 18 year old males.

UGA (and Auburn to a degree) have the pitch that Atlanta is just an hour or two hours away. Florida sells itself with beaches, LSU has NOLA so very close.

Bama is able to land the big time recruits because they are winning.

UT will be back, but it won't be an overnight success. First the wins have to start coming, 7 or 8 a season and then a trip to the SECCG every two or three years. Once that happens, kids will want to come there to play and be part of something. But until then, it is going to be tough. Tenn has always had to recruit nationwide, and with the successes Bama, UGA and USCe are having, the chances of pulling kids from those states who might have given Knoxville a look 10-15 years ago are much much lower.

Knoxville doesn't have to sell that a major city is an hour or two away, because Knoxville is a major city. It's got everything you need right there.

And We can still recruit just fine nationwide, we have top tier facilities and have kids from 10 different states committed to our 2014 class.
