Apologize for not remembering the exact quotes. But both Butch Jones and a Vol player after the game echoed the same sentiments that things didn't break their way implying they had some unlucky breaks go against them.

Really??? First of all, you were playing App State, so please spare me any excuses. Secondly, did they not watch the same game as the rest of us? Missed Extra Point from App State?? Missed relatively easy field goal late in the game from App State?
Things didn't break your way? Speaking of breaks.. Please give me a break Butch Jones and Tennessee.

Do you have any idea what he's referring to? That's a yes or no question, not rhetorical.

EDIT: OP, It's been hours. Yes or no?

App States D schemed and played better than UT. They are a legit team and they out-coached UT.

Tennessee will drop out of the top 25 and never recover.

Not really. You guys won't be favored in any upcoming games.

Play like you just did against VT and UF and you're starting 1-2.

I mean you guys were mandhandled on the lines. Almost embarrassingly so for an SEC team.

lol. App state will beat some folks in their conference. UT's offense will improve. This will all be forgotten as soon as the other teams start playing on Saturday. The media will spin it as first game jitters.

If things continue to 'not break their way', the Vols record could be 2-5 going into the South Carolina game the last week of October.

Virginia Tech, Florida, Georgia, aTm, and Alabama should be able to compete favorably with the team that played last night.

they're right, no one had a BREAsKout performance and App state pretty much dictated that game.

The only thing a UT fan can hope is that it was first game play, and App State is legit (which they are gamers for sure).

Biggest concern if I am UT? Their OLine

Things that didn't break Tennessee's way:

1. Offensive line

2. Stopping the run.

3. Sustaining drives.

4. Penalties.

Helpful hint: CBJ is specifically referencing Neyland's Maxims. And no we didn't catch a whole lot of breaks.

Our OL looked terrible. DL looked terrible except for the second half. Special Teams terrible.
