Looking forward to another group of freshman going through Knoxville without beating Bama.

Seriously tho I was nervous about all of the replacements Bama has to make this year. I couldn't imagine having more freshman on the depth chart than returning starters.

Battered fan syndrome. If you went through Kiffin-Dooley and had never known a spell of consistent low end of the scale mediocrity and your program's all time low point was only 5 wins and the last time only 5 wins happened back to back was several years before WWII, you'd understand. We've been super fortunate compared to 99.9 percent of CFB programs in terms of winning consistently and Ws vs. Ls and thus more unprepared than most when Kiff-Dooley struck.

Totally damaged our psyches.

This year is going to be intense with Lane Kiffin's first trip back to Knoxville. Never know.

But I'm banking on us beating UT forever.

I remember those days of losing to Tennessee, and how every year felt like we would lose to Tennessee, again.

Ah, memories. Feels good now. Just an afterthought.

UT and Bama fans know all too well that feeling. Streaky arse series we have - the cool thing is it feeds the rivalry because we both want it sooo bad and even the winner/one on top of the streak never wants it too end. Makes it hot blooded and fun, imo, as every game is war even when one team is down.

I hear ya. One of my friends growing up used to have a tee-shirt (she was from Bama) that drove me nuts as a kid (it was when y'all had a long streak in early 90s - thankfully ended very early on in the 90s but not soon enough). That shirt had a bunch of tombstones marking wins and showed a UT player being buried alive for the upcoming game. The slogan was something like "Need another Volunteer."

I will never forget that damn tee shirt.

Bama and UT are the top two football programs in the SEC all time. Seems like some like to forget that.

No doubt.

I think for some fans (certainly not all), there's a combo of resentment of that long history and a lack of attention span (whoever is currently on top means all others suck). Other fans don't know much history because they don't want to know their school's history. Bama and UT are different tho' - we love our history and our rivalry. And our rivalry has brought so much to our uni's -- we're both better for it.

Most UT fans would rather jump off a bridge than not play Bama even though we suck right now. Now that's dedication!

EE Von Pearson is making Cam Sutton look like a fool and Cam is an all-American who ate great WRs up last year:

Cam was not an All American, but he's Tennessee's best corner since Jason Allen.

He is very, very good.

Defensive back Cameron Sutton and wide receiver Marquez North have been named Athlon Sports Freshman All-Americans, earning spots on the outlets second and third team, respectively.

Both players earned SEC All-Freshman accolades last week and were named to the College Football News and 247Sports All-Freshman Team as well.

Sutton had a standout season in his inaugural campaign on Rocky Top. The Jonesboro, Ga., native made 39 tackles as he started all 12 games in 2013. Sutton led the Vols with nine passes defended including two interceptions and seven pass break-ups. He also had four tackles for a loss with a sack and two fumble recoveries.

Sutton was the Vols' first true freshman to return an interception for a touchdown since Eric Berry (2007 at Florida) on a 36-yard return vs. WKU (9/7). His second interception came in the Vols' upset win over South Carolina (10/19). He became first true freshman to start in secondary since Justin Coleman (2011) in season opener vs. Austin Peay (8/31).

North started all 11 games he played and was the Vols leader in receiving yards with 496 as a true freshman. He finished second on the team with 38 receptions, the second-most by a freshman in Tennessee history. His yardage total ranks as the third-best total by a freshman in UT annals.

The Charlotte, N.C., native became the first true freshman since 2009 (Marsalis Teague) to start a season opener for the Orange & White. North had his first career 100-yard game with three catches for 102 yards in the upset win over #11 South Carolina (10/19). That total made North the first freshman since Justin Hunter in 2010 with 100-yard game. North also had his second of two ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 plays in the game with a remarkable 39-yard one-handed grab.

We looked like arse, a lot of the time last year, but Cam was out there doing his thing just about as well as he could have. Instant impact player as a true Freshmen. He came in as a more under the radar type player out of HS and immediately came in and was the best player in the secondary. As a true freshmen. That's how bad the talent/depth on the secondary was
