I think he'd be an excellent hire. I still can't see why Texas wants him gone.

I think it'd be a pretty damn good hire. Yeah I know he has that Mack Brown reputation about him with the whole "not winning as much as a Texas coach should" but it's not like the program bottomed out. They haven't been great all that much but they've been consistently good.
I mean his first season was in 1998 and he only missed the NCAA tournament once. I'd take that.

seriously. texas got too caught up in the bullshite and they think they can go get shaka or marshall. well see, but this could turn out to be a pretty bad move for them

Barnes would be a fool to pass over this job. A swirl of NCAA sanctions and a fan base who ran off a coach after making the sweet 16.

I think he has integrity and also would bring stability. He took Texas to the tourney 16 out of 17 seasons, so I'd be totally cool with it.
