You're so full of shite James Franklin doesn't believe that himself. The Nashville metro has over 1.5 million, and VU can't even sell out a 30k stadium with out a large away contingent. If Franklin believed he had support he wouldn't go on the radio begging for better fan support, begging people to show up and sell out a 30k stadium, about all the top talent leaving the Nashville area and heading to Knoxville and the constant bitching about how much more media attention UT gets from not only the entire state but with in his back yard & how there is a huge Vol bias with in the state. The guy drives around Nashville asking people to make Vandy their second team. Vanderbilt might get 10% of the support in the Nashville Metro and that's pushing it, and that's the only dot on the state map with any VU support.

Ok, that is just nuts. I'm from Murfreesboro and just moved to Knoxville. There is NO comparison in UT support in Middle and East Tennessee. There was 25 years ago, but times have changed.

In fairness, it isn't Vandy's rise either. Nashville has become a Titans town. Plus, a huge number of implants moved in who pull for other SEC and B1G schools. There is significant Predator support, and even some for the Grizzlies. Vandy support is up some, as is MTSU's. Ut still has the most college support, but it isn't the cult-like dominance in East Tennessee.

East Tennessee is all things orange, all the time. It is all there is. Congrats to you, I guess, but it is not equivalent.

I agree with this. Nashville area is much more of amelting pot of fans, but still dominated by UT. At least since I moved here in '04

I still see more orange than black & gold, but the overall amount of orange has gone down while the amount of Vandy gear has certainly increased the last couple of years.
