It was the 1st game of the season, we won. All our goals are still intact. We've got some problems, but i'm sure 11 teams tomorrow will find out they have a couple problems. Its football. shite happens.

And you're right about app st., because I was one of the people telling you Vol fans that app state is good. However, all of a sudden Tennessee fans are claiming that App State is better than we were even saying they were. Tennessee is not a championship caliber team bud.
The App State head coach said that he felt that Tennessee was further along than Clemson was last season when they played them as far as Tennessee knowing what they had and how good they could be. Knowing that, and knowing that Clemson beat virtually the same team (they returned 17 starters) 41-0, how good do you really think Tennessee is this season? This will be a mirror image of last season for Tennessee and then when all of those players leave the program for the NFL or graduation, Tennesee will be right back to 7-5 or 8-4.

I knew they'd be tough, but we also didn't play well and that exacerbated it.

We have like 3 senior starters, we'll be fine next year. Common misconception on the rant. We do lose a couple skill positions (QB, RB) so im not saying we'll improve, but were not losing as much as everyone likes to think

One game doesn't have to be indicative of the whole season. you are taking this concept and running with it. Teams have bad games.

App State is a solid football team, but we still should have beaten the crap out of them. Poor coaching, poor play, not taking them seriously...whatever it was, the team looked not at all like the one that came back on Georgia or dragged Northwestern around the field.
At this point we just need more data. If it continues next week, we're clearly just a bad team. But maybe it was just a crappy game. That happens sometimes.
We all like to extrapolate from an N of 1 because that's the nature of message board trash talk. But there's just not enough data. Tennessee didn't look good last night. That's not necessarily to say they won't ever look good this season.

It's just funny that once Tenn pulled out the win, App state became a great team.
