I don't mean to take up for UT fans, but there's a decent chance App State is actually better than VT.

We may be down, but not that down.
As stated in another thread, we have great skill players, especially at WR. The issue is our OL is not deep, and one injury, and it is UT in the backfield all day long.
Our D is solid minus the most important position, the MLB. Can Bud mask it is really the question?
Then again, I still predict UT to win by 14-17.

App state is better than UT as well. They just have a crappy kicker.

App State is actually pretty solid. In the same range really. Georgia Southern is the same way. Not a huge brand, but definitely not a standard cupcake.

No. In as much as things can be judged, VT is not even in the class with App. State. Plus they have a new coach. That won't help.

Our FG kicker besides having a mulligan at UF and still missing the game winner, missed two FG's at Bammer and we lost by 5.
I almost turned blue last week watching him kick.

Our kicker during the Johnny era nearly lost us a few games. He missed a kick once against some crappy team and I just lost it in the stands.
I will say this about kickers. Had Sumlin not iced the kicker against UF in 2012, we would have won the home opener. We lost by 2 and their kicker missed the 1st attempt when Sumlin called timeout. Fast forward to the end of 2012. We get into the SECCG over bama. Aggy and Georgia have a shootout. Winner of that game takes home the natty with overrated Notre Dame. Still salty.
