As long as uncle butch is there, no worries here.

UGA is in a similar situation we were in with Nutt. We had great talent but we were consistently losing to teams we should have beaten.
It's a fine line between patience and expectations. But fwiw, Richt has been much more successful than Nutt overall and I don't blame them for keeping Richt.
He has them contending in the East year in and year out. That's not something easily replaced. The best most teams can hope for is to have their teams always contending for division titles, to sometimes win conference titles, and to occasionally win an NC.

Richt is 7-3 vs AU
Ultimately it doesn't matter. Also, that's more of a statistic than a result...of that 7-3 record, the result is 2 SEC championships, meanwhile Auburn has 3 SEC Championships and an NC.
What I'm gathering is that UGA fans are more content with having consistent 10-win seasons than winning an SECC or NC.

In the next couple years we are going to have more talent on the team top to bottom that we've ever had in our history. That's a fact.
Did Ricth just get a monopoly on FL recruits or something?

uga has had somewhat of a championship roster for the last generation it seems.

In all seriousness, Richt will be at UGA as long as he wants to, barring scandal or 3-4 win season.
He is arguably the best coach UGA has ever had, statistically speaking (win % better than Dooley and Butts). Results wise, he brought UGA its first SEC Champ in 20 years, then another SEC Champ, then 4 more divisional titles.
Richt is a damn fine coach who could have realistically had a shot at the MNC in 2002, 2005, 2007, and 2012 if the ball bounces a little different.
I'm proud CMR represents my Alma Mater, and the future of the program has never seemed so bright, in terms of recruiting, staff hires, admin hires, S&C, IPF, etc.

Not in the trenches, which is where championships are often won.

Jeremy Pruitt has brought that new sense of excitement.

Georgia's team is not measurably more talented now than it has been in recent years. Someone correct me but maybe not as talented as Murray's last 2 years. Dream team and all that
That's a compliment to their recent talent, not knocking their current

Not sure how to properly compare that.

We had a great db named nick marshall. Nfl talent. Couldn't keep him.
Same for highly recruited trey matthews. Josh Harvey clemmons. Shaq wiggins.
Recruiting talent and having talent aren't always the same thing.
Add suspensions for Justin Houston, Alec Ogletree, AJ Green, Todd Gurley, and all of our safeties to start a season... you get the picture.

Maybe....but I don't think hiring Pruitt was all that was keeping UGA from winning another SEC title.

Ron Zook was building NC roster too...but for Meyer.

Agree, so we can add a revamped support staff, which helps with recruiting and off the field trouble, plus a revamped strength and conditioning, which helps with on the field success. All of that is thanks to Pruitt.

UGA has never had a non national championship roster, it just seems to always slip out of their fingertips.

As far as a top to bottom roster it is and will be more so next year. Our roster mgt in years past had been incredibly poor. Some of it due to CMR and some due to our Athletic Dept policies.
Look no further than the 2012 SECCG.We had perhaps 66 scholarship players on our roster compared to 80+ for Bama (I'm assuming it was a full 85 but don't know for sure)

When the hell has Georgia not had the talent to win it all?

What is the talent threshold to determine the answer to this? Year to year, factors change. We have had issues with talent staying on the field and roster. We have had issues with OL talent. We have had issues with DB talent. We have had issues with DL talent. We have had issues with QB talent. We have had issues with RB talent.

About damn time! I'm sure Saban will start whining about having to play Tennessee every year if he starts losing to them.
And now UGA will stop feeding Awburn and Bama with stud players.
