Knowing UT's financial issues, they'll probably paint a few rusty poles, throw up a few fake walls on the concourse, have a sky crane visible to make it look like a construction site then change the seat width from 12 inches to 9 inches and increase the ticket price $25 a game.
Good Gawd, you're one dumb motherfricker. Truly a credit to your fanbase

Lol, I grew up an hour away from Nashville in Cookeville. Who knew I actually grew up in Nashville metro. Gracious

I can't post links but there was an article from Forbes 2 years ago that indicated that UT, UT, and a third school were the top 3 in profit. Seems like my alma mater was at $127 million for profit.
College Football's Most Valuable Teams 2015: Texas, Notre Dame And ... Tennessee?
"A mediocre 5-7 record, three straight years without a top-10 recruiting class, a TV deal falling far short of expectations -- and still the uncontested most valuable team in college sports. Sounds like just another year for the Texas Longhorns, who for the seventh year in a row top our list of college football's biggest cash cows.
Texas' team value is up 16% this year to $152 million, and that climb to the stratosphere should hardly be a surprise at this point. Last season Texas generated an unprecedented $121 million in revenue; the Longhorns remain the only college football team to ever break the $100 million revenue mark, which they've done for four straight years. Even more staggering: The team booked $92 million in profit. Alabama, arguably the most popular team in the nation, only managed revenue of $97 million.
Rounding out the top three this year are another mainstay and one of our biggest surprises in years: Notre Dame (current value: $127 million) and Tennessee ($121 million). Yes, that Tennessee. The Volunteers have been far from impressive on the field in their three seasons under Butch Jones, posting just 20 wins and beating only two ranked teams."

No wonder we have the best stadium in the SEC.
"Alabama, arguably the most popular team in the nation, only managed revenue of $97 million."
Probably because they play out in the middle of nowhere.

Revenue means nothing dumbass, it's what you have left over after the bills are paid that matters.
We have a 45 million dollar surplus, Tennessee has like 11 million.

If you can convince our AD that there's good reason to build brand new basketball arena downtown as opposed to continuing to renovate the second oldest arena in the conference, then be my guest.
Otherwise, we'll just accept the fact that there is nothing else to do in East Tennessee other than visit Dollywood for the umpteenth time or attend every UT sporting event on the menu whereas there is plenty to do in and around the Atlanta metro area. One necessitates an obnoxiously large arena for a non-blue blood program, the other is just kind of there for the occasional Kentucky/Florida home game

That's stupid. There's plenty to do around Knoxville. It's a city.

If you would pay attention to what you read you would see that I said the Outside. I'm sure it's a perfectly fine venue on the inside. Kinda dark tho. I know lectricty is spensive up thar in the hills.

It is the same lighting system used at Staples Center. LED lighting on the floor. Limited lighting on the crowd.

How come the court or arena isn't named after Kevin Nash?

Downtown is fantastic now and getting better by the day.
Cumberland is still under construction.

Who the hell is Kevin Nash? The whole thing should be named Pat Summit court at Pat Summit Arena.

Wow. This thread shows that the Volunteers are a very potent trigger - even for the Gumps.
