It's a huge game so tickets should be in high demand. Is scalping at the Sanford stadium cheaper than Stubhub? Cheapest ticket at Stubhub is like $160.

Scalping is always cheaper as long as you talk to people wearing one of teams colors.

Scalping is what it is. It's always a risk. If you're travelling for the game I'd make sure to have tickets in hand. $160 isn't that bad and if Georgia starts 3-1 that could be a 3:30 or primetime espn game.

isn't that for EXCHANGING tickets though? He asked a general question about scalping.

Legitimately asking, btw.

with face value being, i'm guessing, around $90-100, $160 for a ticket isn't that bad for that game. like others have said, if i'm traveling for a game, i'd make sure to have tickets beforehand.

all varies. The bridge at sanford is going to have thousands of tickets on sale, but you'll be buying from scalpers since no UGA fans will sell you theirs.

Really just depends on if you are the type of person who doesn't mind sweating it or if you want to be assured of tickets in hand before going.

That ain't necessarily true. If you're patient, you'll most likely find someone. The scalpers all wanted $300-$350 for a pair of UGA-Clemson season opener tickets in 2014 and we ended up getting a couple for $65 each from a couple of UGA folks. Course, if you're driving that far, I'd agree with buy them first.

I am an LSU fan, and I got tickets for the 2009 game from a UGA fan tailgating in North Campus for face value

Face is $45 for tickets issued by UGA to UGA people. We charge a higher price for visitors, so idk what face is for ones we sold to UT.

how does that make what I wrote untrue?

if you were a clemson fan you wouldn't have got them for $65 from UGA folks.

Short answer, yes. You will get a ticket for that game for much less than $160 if you put any effort at all into scalping

am I an idiot for paying more for peace of mind with having my tickets well beforehand? My friends always say I could scalp for less but I never listen. I just like to tailgate and then walk down to the stadium without having to worry about whether I'll find a ticket or not.

Depends on where the game is for me. I'll drive to UGA or Clemson and pick up a ticket outside the stadium if I don't feel like overpaying.

If it's a far destination, like Kentucky, Florida, or a West school I'll definitely buy ahead

Those tickets are in the tech deck (600 level). It's like watching people watching a football game from up there...

You stated that no UGA fans would sell theirs (I took that as you meaning in general, not to an opposing team's fans). My bad if that was your intent. Easy way around that, though. Dress as a UGA fan and then change.

Of course UGA fans will have extras to sell. My point was that it will be highly unlikely for a UGA fan to sell their tickets to a tennessee fan, at any reasonable price anyway.
