Who guessed that the correct answer was "neither"? Most people believe in Tebow's ability to 'will his team to win', or Manziel's just plain ability. To realize that neither would be successful in the NFL would require a person to look in depth.

I thought Manziel's maturity issues would get resolved in his first year or two in the pros. I misjudged his addictions and thought they were simple maturity issues.

Not really. Tebow's windup was longer than a baseball player's and JFF was always a ticking time bomb.

This will def get down votes my I had questions about both of their ability to succeed in the NFL for different reasons. OP hit it on the head with Tebow, desire and sheer will to win took him as far as it did. Manziel is a basket case but even if he got his off the field stuff taken care of, some guys are just good College QBs.

Wait..A lot of people thought those guys would fail in the NFL.

I thought Tebow had a better chance because of his work ethic. He had tons of flaws but maybe he could have changed them. Turns out he couldn't. It's not suprising though when he had so many flaws at the NFL level. Manziel was pretty obvious imo.

Tebow is a lot better than most backup NFL QB's. Teams just don't like drama he brings - not necessarily by him. Otherwise, he would still have a roster spot.

Manziel's on field ability wasn't really his problem. Sure, he had some physical limitations, but nothing too damning. Off field behavior is what did him...and of course the Cleveland Curse. Put him on any other team and I think he gets his personal life in check earlier.

Tebow has major flaws that have been exposed. Mainly being that he can't throw accurately. 2nd, and not his fault, is that he is left handed. The different rotation on the ball causes it to travel differently and does no favors for receivers. There are very few lefties who make it in the NFL.

And yet, what little time Tebow had in the NFL he enjoyed a LOT more success than Manziel.

They were both great COLLEGE QBs. I'm not convinced Tebow was given enough of a chance. He did take over a flailing Denver team and take them to the playoffs and won a playoff game or two.

Including a game where he completed 1 pass.....ONE. Every knowledgeable player has said that he is awful and has no business playing QB.

Taking tebow in the first round was one of the dumbest moves I have ever seen. Everyone knew what he was

You're right. I would MUCH rather have a player that goes 20-35 3 TD passes and loses.

Do you know what Denver's record was when Tebow took over?

Oh. And how did that pass do?
I'm not telling you he was great. I'm telling you the results he got. Would you like to guess how many season Namath completed fewer than 50% of his passes. (And no. I am not comparing Tebow to Namath)

ETA

By the way...what exactly did Manziel do that was better than Tebow as a pro?

Horsecrap. If he could help a team in any way he'd be on a NFL roster, drama and all. I get so tired of this, and the ol' "NFL teams don't like him because he outwardly shows his Christianity". Like I said, if NFL teams thought Tebow could play at all he'd be somewhere.

You can say the same thing about JFF.

In fact, I'd say it was dumber to take JFF. Like Tebow, there were on the field questions and everybody knew he was a head case too.

I think what they meant was that Tebow was a borderline NFL player, and they just felt like he was not worth a roster spot because of the drama he brought with him. The NFL will take a supremely talented player that brings drama, but not a borderline one.

Had Michael Sam stayed quiet, he might have stuck with a team as a special teams player and role player. This could be said about other players, as well, I'm sure.

Manziel for pure potential, Tebow for the total package. I wouldn't want either on my team though.

Tebow, without question every single time.

Without a monster WR in Mike Evans bailing him out constantly and basically an NFL OL giving him all day to run in circles in the backfield, Manziel is nothing more than a drunk Khiel Frazier

Manziel still has a chance if he can get his shite together.
