To paraphrase:

"What disturbs me the most is at no point in time did Tennessee ever take over the game. Even in the 2nd half when they were on the ropes and it was clear they could very well lose, they didn't ever seem to turn it on and start dominating. They won mainly on the basis of App State losing the game more so than going out and winning it themselves, the missed extra point, the missed field goal, the botched time management at the end of regulation, and even in the overtime the extremely fortunate fumble recovery."

Volls should be embarrassed for their team. Last night was glorious ineptitude.

Ut should cut the cord on cBJ, and throw as much money at Tom Herman as they can manage.

I think Dari said it best (I think it was him) in that South Carolina and Tennessee looked way too similar for one to have veterans and the other to be a team full of freshmen

Not that strange, really...Both teams looked like hot doodoo. We all knew UT was overrated as hell, and SC...well..

Do they even have the money to buy out Butch? I believe they still owe money to Pearl and Dooley. They're going to bankrupt the university at the rate they're going.

It's not even that complicated.

Butch simply didn't have the team ready to play. They looked like they needed another couple weeks of camp.

As a Georgia fan, this was the same stuff we saw all too often from Richt's teams starting the season off flat.

Richt generally finished strong, his teams got better as the seasons progressed, naturally.

How much better will Butch have this team playing as the season moves forward... ? And it will move forward fast... we will blink our eyes and it will be Christmas... season flies by... Butch can't take his time getting this team ready.. it needs to happen immediately.

Can he do it?

Are Vol fans ready to do what may need to be done?

Well its contents are sweeping overgeneralizations that support OP's preconceived opinions so your gut wasn't entirely wrong.

Butch has had 3 years.

3 years is a magic number.

Since 1990, only two coaches have won the SEC without having won it in their first three years.

Every coach to win the SEC since 1990 has done it in the first 3 years, except for two.... Fulmer and Tommy.

What I'm saying is that if you don't win it in your first 3 years, you won't ever win it.

Butch has pissed away three years.

Time to move on.

1 $550,000 payment left to Dooley. That's the only buyout on the books.
