Georgia, Florida and South Carolina should always get an exemption from having to schedule any additional tough OOC games beyond their in-state rivalry games. Louisville isn't quite on the level historically as GT, FSU and Clemson, but I can see giving Kentucky a similar exemption. The fact that they have to play them because of political factors or whatever is totally irrelevant. They play them, so they get credit for playing them, regardless of the reason they play them.
And frankly, Syracuse doesn't qualify as a marquee game, even though they are technically in a P5 conference and the game is on the road. It would be like a team from some other conference pointing to Kentucky or Vanderbilt as a marquee OOC game. Auburn's on thin ice with Louisville, too, as a marquee game, although they are better than Syracuse.

LoL one is clearly not like the others. And im NOT even talking about Louisville who will be really down from last year after losing so many great players from both sides of O and D.

You HAVE to play them every year though
The is the standard B1G argument when complaining about SEC scheduling.
Why is a team like Florida or UGA or South Carolina "punished" in this conversation for having the balls to play an ANNUAL game against tough OOC competition? We should be applauding that.

That's the point. Georgia doesn't HAVE to play georgia tech like Bama and auburn do

Looking forward to Oregon/Michigan State

Well that's the rules. They are in our conference and our division.
Which fits the description that you put forth of "HAVE" to play a certain team. There is nothing that binds UGA and GT together other than a traditional rivalry. Neither team is held down to making them play each other year after year.

Ole Miss had Texas a couple years ago but outside of that do the Mississippi schools ever schedule marquee OOC games
MSU started with Oklahoma State in 2013. In the recent years we have had series with West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Oregon, etc. USM was supposed to be a big match up when we signed them. Then, Bobby Collins happened.
As far as Ole Miss goes, Memphis finished the season in the top 25. That should be a good game.

Georgia and GT do HAVE to play each other. Don't kid yourself. Your own state dictates that and you know it. Just like the state made AU and UA to play again.

BYU counts as playing at P5 school starting next season.

The state of GA would never allow what TX and A&M just did, believe me. UGA fans won't admit it on here, but there would be riots to keep their rivalry with the Jackets.

Oh so there is nothing at all keeping georgia and tech playing outside of both schools wanting to? And what did a&m and texas do? A&M left the big 12 and no longer HAD to play Texas or any big 12 school

i am not so sure tech will be better than Louisville considering all the thug rejects louisvlle has taken. davontea fields was the big 12 defensive player of the year before being kicked out of tcu. you also have the two defensive backs from georgia. auburn has taken their share of thugs, but not 3, 4 or 5 all in the same year

We shipped JSW & Shaq Wiggins to Louisville and Nick & Tray to AU... Are Nick & Tray thug rejects too??
