Well I guess the Aggies should just forfeit and not go to the expense of showing up!
The history of teams with 2nd year QB's is not on your side, my friend.

What will be the excuse this year? New Bama Oline didn't have enough time to gel before the A&M game? VaTech wasn't a tough enough test before CStat? Swaying stands gave poor Gumps vertigo?

I call the swaying stands!

Last year, A&M didn't have a chance in hell to even compete. That was the mantra by most. We proved everyone wrong.
This year, it's "The cat is out of the bag, and everyone knows how to stop this offense now. You will be lucky to get to .500"
I look forward to those people being wrong again, and the team - Johnny, in particular - love playing with that chip on their shoulder to prove those people wrong.
Keep saying it, but you can at least offer more insight as to HOW they are going to stop our offense.
Here are my reasons as to why you are wrong:
- Players get better in the second year of a new coach's system.
- The biggest improvement in new players is between their first & second years (i.e. an improved Johnny Football)
- 3 receivers that are 6'4"+, a TE that's 6'6" & 270lbs, 2 more VERY talented RBs (transfers from Oregon & OU)
I admit our defense will have question marks and might not be as good as last year, but to say you guys will stop our offense when we have MORE talent than we did last year is plain retarded.

Should have stated that I still believe he will have a really good year, but looking for him to duplicate or even out do last year's performance would be asking a little much IMO.
We shall see!

This.
A&M's offense is going to hinge on our RB stable in '13 more than anything, I believe, due to the fact that defenses will have to be completely keyed in on Manziel.
Gonna be interesting.

why do aggies say this? I can think of several times pundits put us on upset alert. Hell it was on CollegeGame Day too

Because that was the case before the season began, and even at the beginnning of it.

And it was still laughed off by Bama fans and much of the SEC as the media trying to hype the new guys, tbh.

I think Johnny will be as good or better than last year. The ? mark is how will his O-Line be? If the pocket collapses immediately and he has to scramble every play, he better be in really good condition.

His Oline will be fine, I think. Honestly, his style of play really makes it so that they'll be ok as long as they have a feel for what he likes to do in the pocket.

Didn't you guys lose some starting linemen though? Will Freshmen be starting or were there some other players behind them?

Biggest loss was at center. Also lost our tackle (Luke Joeckel).
The Matthews brothers are filling in, though. Big bro Jake, who was on the line last year, fills in for Luke, and his little brother Mike takes over at center for Pat Lewis (and is slightly more athletic than Pat, IMO). Mike is a soph, Jake a Sr.
Both are related to the Matthews of NFL repute, so I think they'll do aight

RSJ has already proven himself to be a stud receiver in camp especially in red zone.
I pity any defense trying to stop JFF from throwing when Open Mike Evans and RSJ are on the field at the same time.

Ok, I was just wondering.
Hey, I'm a Coog fan too, I followed Sumlin and his success in Houston. I think it's naive for people to think he doesn't know how to coach. And if it wasn't JF, it would be somebody else.
I think they have a good year. I'm excited for the game in Death Valley. Gonna be huge, especially when they both meet undefeated. Hate the 1st loss for the Ags will be at the hands of the Tigers!
