i always thought it was incredible that Alabama fans could go through something like this yet somehow rationalize giving US shite for being pissed at Saban for what he did to us.

Did Saban leave on a plane in the middle of the night while everyone was asleep? Did Saban have one of his assistants stay behind to tell the team that he was leaving after telling them to "hold the rope"? Yeah…I'm sure it sucks that Saban left you for the NFL. But he at least had the dignity to tell his players where he was going. Fran didn't even do that. He just upped and left without telling anyone until he accepted the job the next morning in College Station.

It's not that Fran left us. It's HOW he left us that we will forever hate him for.

He strung us along for weeks then left on Christmas day for his "challenge" that he then upped and QUIT a few years later to come back to our division and compete against us after LSU gave him the chance to make the name for himself that he did and make the kind of huge money he started making.

I realize you don't care because it wasn't you just like IDGAF about Fran or any of that nonsense because it wasn't LSU. Just have a little common decency rather than act like we're the ones with the problem when you've been burned by coaches in the past too.

And you guys barely noticed Saban's departure as the 2005, 2006, and 2007 seasons so obviously indicate. Fran's departure on the other hand sent our football program into a swan dive that it didn't recover from until the 2008 season.

What Saban did to LSU is nothing compared to the shite storm we went through in the aftermath of Fran cutting and running. At least ya'll remained competitive. To say the two incidents are similar is your typical and retarded LSU hyperbole.

that's really not the point.

Again I know you don't care because it's not your team and that's cool. All I ask for is to not be a complete hypocrite when you've had the same thing happen to you. Yeah I know you're going to do everything you can to differentiate the two because one happened to Alabama and the other didn't but don't think you can pass that bullshite off on me son.

That really is the point. Fran leaving Alabama for Texas A&M is not the issue. Not too many people would have stayed given the situation we were in with the NCAA sanctions as bad as they were. I don't blame him for leaving.

HOWEVER, he owed it to his players to confront them face to face and tell them he was leaving, especially considering how he BEGGED the upperclassmen to stay after the sanctions were handed down. Instead he got onto a plane in the middle of the night, telling no one, not even the administration, and flew to College Station while he had Carl Torbush - our defensive coordinator - stay behind and tell the players the bad news. Then Torbush upped and left for College Station to join Fran right after the team meeting was concluded.

Please tell me how that's anyway similar to how Saban handled the team in the aftermath of him taking the Miami job.

No, it really isn't. I don't give a shite about the minute details, just like you don't give a shite about the minute details over here. The point is that an Alabama fan who wants to give us shite over being pissed at Saban at any point needs to look in the mirror or else not say 1 word about Fran because we've both been burned by coaches.

You really just don't get that it doesn't matter how you view our situation or how we view yours. The point is that our respective fan bases were equally offended by how everything went down. The difference though is that you don't see LSU fans telling Alabama people how they should feel about Fran, unlike you hypocrite gumps.

And I have no sympathy for your outrage. You went 34-6 in the three years after Saban's departure, winning the SEC and BCS titles. In the three years after Fran left us, we went 20-17. Also…I seem to remember a lot of LSU fans saying in the aftermath of '07 that we could keep Saban after your national championship run. Now that he's winning in Tuscaloosa you guys are pissed.

Forgive me if I don't sympathize with your anger over Saban's departure from Baton Rouge.

I do remember this story about him though, written by TexAgs very own Olin Buchanan.

What was that doing in the Tuscaloosa News in 2003? Looked like he had turned the corner in 2006, lost to TTU by 4, OU by 1, Nebraska by 1 and beat Texas. Got blown out by California in the Bowl game.

Fran didn't understand several basic football/recruiting concepts necessary to being successful:

1)position of need
2) fitting players/offense and vice versa
3) functional fitness
4) passing down
5) strength
6) weakness

I was In SD for that holiday bowl. That Cal team was no joke. A&M came out flat, but I don't think it would have mattered. They were pretty good.

Marshawn Lynch, Desean Jackson, Justin Forsett, Nate Longshore... Etc etc etc

Yeah in retrospect the talent levels of those two teams just weren't close.

They had Thomas Decoud too, solid NFL safety for the Falcons. Tedford's talent level fell off hard. Must have just gotten lazy recruiting

No, I'm not because the situation with Saban is completely different. You are pissed Saban left LSU and then went to Alabama. We are pissed Fran left our program in shambles. Fran leaving set our program back almost 6 years. Saban leaving had very little effect on the overall strength of your program.

I think Alabama and A&M should collaborate to ensure Texas State plays both of us back to back for about 5 years.
