Yes that is what I was referring to. I have friends on the football team and trust me they are disciplined. Richt is not like what he is in the media behind closed doors. Because he doesn't publicly rip kids heads off like Saban doesn't mean he's soft. Trust me on this.

Not a flame, so try not to immediately jump on the defensive. If everything you've said is true, why do you think UGA continues to have (seemingly, at least) more off-field discipline issues than anyone else in conference?

Not necessarily... Most Christians want to SAVE folks, plus mothers like to put trouble children with Christian coaches in the hope that hey will change... Jesus spent a lot of time with criminals, tax collectors (legal criminals), etc. So it is not really that surprising.

Well at least we've solved the whole Branden Smith and Isaiah Crowell on the same field at the same time thing...too bad both of them won't be on it for the first game anyway.

Yeah I've heard that Richt does that too but based off all of our recent suspensions and removal of players it makes me wonder if we just have really bad luck with players or if Richt just isn't doing enough?

Could be that Christianity is based on the premise that we are all sinners diserving of punishment but are imparted mercy and grace and thus these coaches are more willing to grant mercy and grace.

How much of an idiot is Crowell? They really needed him last year in the backfield, not so much now with Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley.

Or it could be that all coaches are going after these players and these two have (unfortunately) had their disproportionate share of frick-ups.

Honestly, I don't want a bunch of Choir Boys playing football for Bama. I want mean, nasty, angry, agressive mutha's out there ready to take someone's head off.
The challenge of every coach is trying to channel that energy in the right direction and teach those players when its ok to unleash the "Thug POS" attitude.
We are ALL just one stupid decision away from being in the same boat that UGA/Richt finds themselves in today.

I have no clue. And in reality our off the field issues aren't that bad. We get a bunch of misdemeanor type stuff that happens everywhere but in Athens you get arrested for it a lot more than in other places. As far as "serious" offenses like this it's pretty comparable. Auburn, Tenn, and LSU off the top of my head have had serious issues like this in the past few years. This is the first serious one in a while that I can think of.
