Sumlin's name will be mentioned for every top college job that opens. He will also be mentioned for pro jobs. He's not going anywhere though.

You don't fire a guy without having some Idea of who you want. SIL's Boss called at 12 last night to pass the word. They must have made the decision b4 the USC game started or in the 1st half.

Wow. I never realized how scared the second teir of the SEC (particularly LSU) are of aTm. It's positively palpable.

Huh? What do you base any of this on?

LSU scared of aTm? (LSU beat them)
LSU is not second tier of the SEC.

You haven't familiarized yourself with your new conference?

That is why I would take a pig over a sip any day. Talk radio in Austin has had him taking the USC job since March.

Why would USC want a coach that's never even won a conference title?

Brilliant! That would put Sumlin in the same category as Mack Brown, Les Miles and Nick Saban as coaches who won NC's after never having won a conference championship before being hired by the program where they won a NC. Saban was 34-24-1 at Michigan State and Miles was 28-21 before LSU took a chance on them.

I saw Summlin building a team, not just winning a game. You don't build a team if you plan on leaving it, especially when he could have hid behind JFF.

It's just not happening. He's a good coach, and is a good fit at aTm.

TAMU is a stepping stone type program. Sumlin will leave as soon as he can.

They must be scared. Their fans are the ones that keep posting this wishful thinking junk.

aTm is an ascending program based in the best recruiting territory in the country - and that's what really scares them.

Sumlin has done a fine job. Last night, his defense was getting gashed and he turned to a pure run attack. Our poor defense-having spent 30 minutes chasing JFF and getting smashed by that Oline- had no chance of stopping the Aggie run game. This saved the Aggie victory and broke our backs.

Nice job of coaching by Sumlin; very nice indeed.

I have no idea if he will look at other jobs. But TAMU, like Arkansas in some respects, is the kind of place where a coach can put down roots, make huge money, and have a great lifestyle.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

OJ married white womanz, killed her and didn't go to jail. I don't want to make any assumptions cause that would be racist. All I am saying is that he is in the biggest conservative college town ever, and could go to the biggest pussy grab town in the country with a wave of a pen. And with his type of offense USC would be stupid not to take a good hard look at him.

I just don't see how a black man could be comfortable in College Station. USC is a far better program too.

USCw got burned with a young, semi-experienced coach. They'll want a more proven one. So Les to USCe. Saban returns to LSU. Muschamp heads to Bama. Butch Jones to Florida. And Kiffin right back to Tennessee.

It would be the most beautiful week ever on SECr, and Sumlin will struggle a bit without Manziel anyway, so we can add that meltdown to the mix.
