USC will first call Sarkesian and Peterson from Boise....will get turned down by both.

Dont think USC hires a coach w/o experience this time.

Sumlin's name will be mentioned for every top college job that opens. He will also be mentioned for pro jobs. He's not going anywhere though.

Meh USC IMO is the best job in college football. Southern Cal, recruits its self, beautiful weather and women. I would take the job if I were Sumlin.

ETA: Is Sumlin from Texas?

Wow. I never realized how scared the second teir of the SEC (particularly LSU) are of aTm. It's positively palpable.

Why would Sumlin leave for another college job? He's owns a plantation on the best recruiting dirt in the country and has stuck it to Big Tex in the process. Another top 5 recruiting class or two and they might pwn permanent residence (with Alabama) in the big house, too.

Who would want to go to SoCal? Seriously, what kind of question is that?

I think USC is a top 3 destination job for most coaches in America.

You have obviously never been to Cali. Beautiful place. Perfect weather, beautiful women, cannabis is practically legal.
The "fruits" stay in San Fran btw.

That is what I am thinking. It would be a nice place to retire.

i don't care either way..I don't think your team will every make a serious run without a strong D and if JFF leaves you will be back to not being able to outscore all teams with a chitty D.

All of Sumlin's head coaching ties are in Texas. That is a big reason why we recruit so well.

If Sumlin goes to Cali then he has to start over with networking.

But don't worry, everyone in Austin, TX is praying for it too.
