If Sumlin leaves, has Saban run off every coach except Mullen in the past 6 seasons? That's pretty cray.

Doesn't help that Les is gone either, Bert relied on out coaching a superior team late in the seasons.

All 3 of these so-called coaches should gain weight like Bert, wear a sweater vest ensemble like Gus, and rock the Pimpstick like Sumlin.

The only coach likely to be let go on your list is Sumlin. Good for the Ags

Bert I think will be there next year, and I don't think they finish that poorly this year for that matter. The defense is improved and Enos is a good OC. Every OC has a few of those games, but Bert may lay the blame on Enos if this continues, he seems good at passing it around.

Gus...eh that is a toss up but same reasoning, I think they finish 9-3 and I can imagine I would pick them in whatever bowl game they wind up in. Hard to fire a 10 win coach, and their defense isn't going to let any game get ugly.

They can't afford his buyout

Without sounding like one of those "our AD has soooo much money" guys, the buyout is easily afforded and will be paid if we should really REALLY tank this season (which I'm still not sure we will, see our recent history).

What a lot of people don't realize - including a lot of Hog fans - is that his buyout is structured where our AD can pay it out all at once OR over several years, I think up to 5. His new salary, should he take a new HC position, also offsets the buyout. You're talking $3mm / year over 5 years to make him go away (assuming he doesn't take a new position in that time frame), which isn't chump change by any means but is easily offset by renewed fan enthusiasm and some deep pocketed donors.

Compare this to someone like Sumlin's buyout that has to be paid in full within 60 days and it doesn't look nearly as bad on paper as it's made out to be; still a huge mistake by Long to put us on the hook for THAT much.

I think Bert and Gus are ok unless things get way worse. I think Bert goes 7-5 or 6-6. Gus 8-4 or 9-3. I believe Sumlin has completely lost his team therefore nothing will save him. I think aTm finishes 6-6 at best.

I don't understand why everyone wants to fire their coaches. Is it possibly because fans only care about the playoffs now?
It doesn't matter how brilliant everyone's coaches are, there aren't going to be 7 SEC teams that win 10 games in a year. I'm pretty sure that's mathematically impossible.
And then most of you are pissed even when you win 10 games because you don't win the SEC or make the playoffs.

Honestly this constant HC turnover in the SEC probably has more to do with Saban-envy than anything else

Don't get me wrong, I'm the last guy that jumps on the FIRE COACH _________ bandwagon when it comes to UofA, but at a certain point when things start regressing instead of progressing it's time to move on.

He'd be here forever if he could consistently get us 9-10 win seasons, not consistently surprise us on a weekly basis with WTF?!?! performances or where has THIS team been?! performances.
