Clemson almost lost to South Carolina which was the 12th best team in the SEC. How are they going to beat the number 1 team in the conference? How soon people forget this

Clemson's schedule was top heavy with games against 3 teams that finished the season in the top 10...

Alabama played one top 15 team (who they lost to) and then Florida, LSU, and Miss St who were just inside the top 25....

It should be noted that FSU beat the breaks off Florida....

Clemson is definetely more battle tested....

Um, pretty sure Bama beat the #3 team in the nation by 38 points last Friday night.

Also pretty sure Bama's faced 12 teams that qualified for a bowl game, beating 11 of them. Of Bama's 12 bowl eligible opponents, eight of them won their bowl games.

Clemson, on the other hand, faced 8 Bowl eligible teams. Of those eight teams, a whopping two won their games.

Now, as to Clemson beating more teams that finished in the top 15. Since the final poll has yet to be released nobody's finished in the top 10 and given the way both were gutted in their bowl games, it is unlikely that FSU, Notre Dame, or North Carolina will finish in that top 15.

In other words, you're so full of shait your eyes should be brown.

but I find it hard to believe that Bama has played the nation's toughest schedule.

Everyone knew Alabama had the toughest schedule going into the year.

Wins over ranked teams, at the time of the game.

#20, #8, #9, #2, #17, #18 and #3

The ACC is 9-7 vs the SEC the last 2 years....

Ha... hahahaha.... HAHAHAHA

First, it's 9-8, not 9-7.

Thank god for South Carolina and Kentucky, amirite?

Considering South Carolina was 1 score away from being the ACC champs, I'd slow the roll.

You can play the same game with some of Bama's opponents.

Tennessee beat who???

Arkansas lost to Toledo and Texas Tech??

And Ole Miss (who beat Bama) lost to Memphis. No shame in that ;)

Schedules don't really matter now - both teams are clicking on all cylinders. This is going to be a GREAT fricking game.

Is that why the SEC east champ got demolished by a team that couldn't win an ACC division?

No, the SEC east champ got demolished because their QB couldn't pass a piss test.

The ACC coastal champ, on the other hand lost to the worst team in the SEC to open the season and then closed out the season losing to a Baylor team that was on their 3rd QB of the year.

Now, remind me again what the ACC's bowl record was this season?

Clemson:
3 wins vs. 3-9 teams
2 wins vs. 4-8 teams
1 win vs. 5-6 D1-AA team

Half of their regular season wins came against teams well below .500. They are a very good team and they absolutely can beat Alabama, but let's not pretend they have played an overly tough schedule.

This is the dumbest stat on the planet.

Why should Bama get credit for beating a "top 10" Texas A&M team when they were never close to being Top 10 calibur?

Why should Bama's win over Texas A&M count as a Top 10 win... but LSU's win over the same Texas A&M team doesn't count even as a Top 25 win? That's just stupid.

Bama's best win prior to Michigan State was against Tennessee. Let me remind you that until Saturday, the Vols were 0-3 against the final regular season Top 25.

Bama's other decent win was against Florida... who was 2-3 against the AP Top 25... with the two wins coming against the same UT squad mentioned above, plus Ole Miss.

We don't need to remind anyone that Ole Miss has 3 losses, one of which was to Memphis.

Bama played a tough schedule. But let's be honest, this was the weakest path to an SEC Championship than any SEC Champion has had in at least 2 decades.

LOL, Alabama played 9 of the 10 best teams in the league. The only one they didn't play was themselves. They didn't play a single one of the bottom 4 teams which were all SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the other 10 (UK, Missouri, USCe and Vanderbilt). Every team in the league Alabama played went to a bowl, and every one of them won at least 7 games and all but Auburn won at least 8.

They played literally the hardest path that they could play in the SEC.

Alabama

Per Sagarin : #1 SOS, 9-1 vs Top 30, 1-1 vs Top 10
Per ESPN FPI : N/A, 9-1 vs Top 30, 2-1 vs Top 10
Per Massey : #1 SOS, 10-1 vs Top 30, 3-1 vs Top 10

Its not our fault we not only beat them but take their souls and they aren't shite after we get done with them.

A&M, LSU, Tenn, hell even Ole Miss all fail apart after playing us.

Clemson's biggest wins are against teams that lost their bowl games.
And one lost to Houston.

That redneck Marty guy is on Finebaum right now giving a sermon for Clemson right now. Good grief. He's got Dabo's nutz in his mouth.

Polls, including the playoff rankings, tend to be subject to bias, shortsightedness and have a completely arbitrary cutoff point. Better to use statistical rankings for a more accurate view of overall team performance. In Football Outsiders F/+ rankings:

Alabama faced
#5 Ole Miss
#9 LSU
#10 Michigan State
#11 Arkansas
#16 Mississippi State
#18 Tennessee
#27 Florida
#29 Georgia
#32 Wisconsin
#33 Auburn
#34 Texas A&M

Clemson
#4 Oklahoma
#7 Notre Dame
#12 Florida State
#24 North Carolina
#38 Louisville
#48 NC State

Almost missed this. You can't be fricking serious

The two Mississippi schools are as strong as they've ever been, Arkansas had their best team in years, we faced the top 3 teams in the East and still had three solid to good teams in Auburn, A&M and LSU to deal with. It's closer to the toughest road any SEC Champion has faced.
