I'm not going to debate someone over this. You're too ignorant.

the rest don't really care that he poisoned a fricking tree and we laugh at all the barners making a big deal out of nothing

If you respect the traditions of fellow SEC schools, and look at some of the other SEC school posters on this thread you would realize that people empathize with Auburn in this given situation. I thought it was a pretty cool tradition and I understand why they're so upset.

This shite is too frickin funny.

Only in college football will someone defend a POS human being just to rustle a rival's jimmies.

I mean, the people sticking up for Updike don't even believe what they're saying.

now put a value on a unique and one of a kind piece of art that has never been sold at auction. i mean you can buy some oil paint, brushes, and a canvas for $150

That value is much more easily identifiable because art has a secondary market in which it is bought and sold. Oak trees do not.

In terms of GAAP, art would be a Level 2 investment because it could be estimated due to relatable pieces and other open market pricing. Oak Trees would be Level 3 because there are no market values for them and there are no inputs to test to come up with a good estimate.

It isn't really the same thing.

I can feign support for Auburn people I don't actually agree with at times (Cam, Fairley, Muschamp, etc.), but I couldn't do it for Updyke (if I were a UA person) for the trashiness alone.

I imagine that the HBC image you have there to be what your face would look like as the world burned.

I mean I couldn't either but we're dealing with a completely different type of folk that do.

Nope, not at all. The guy is trash and what he stands for is trash.

I wish there was a way to make lawyer Clay Travis defend him in open court and to put it on television.

Can we do that? Can we make them do that?

What would be REALLY funny is seeing this board's reaction if an Auburn fan blew up Bear Bryant's statue outside BDS.

I'm sure Gumps would say "It affected no one"

I'd be pissed they didn't blow up the Saban one. That thing is awful.

But yea if you blew up the Gorgas House or the Captain's Prints I'd probably fight that person in real life. With a shotgun.

Hell, I don't. It was shitty, sure. But we are talking about ruining a persons life..... Over not another person..... But fricking trees. They are just trees, not people, not even animals, but trees.

I think an explosion might affect people more than poisoning a tree.

I didn't necessarily mean monetarily, but he destroyed something special to all of them and doesn't seem to give a shite about it. Until he does, he should be forced to go back there every year and pick up trash or something at the very least.

It's an inanimate object. In my hypothetical, no one would get hurt. I'll even go as far as someone badly defacing it.
