Steve Spurrier made SEC football fun, he knew how to coach teams to smash your team and he knew how to mock your team, and fans respected him for he was. He will be missed.

The team was told today he is retiring. This is real.

Sad day for College Football. Great guy, great coach. Will miss seeing him on the sidelines. He did great things at Florida and turned around a struggling South Carolina program. Cheers to the 'Ole' Ball Coach' for a deserved retirement

Thanks for the memories!!!!

Memories….like when Brewbaker pulled Lawrence Philips out of jail after dragging a girl down a flight of stairs by her hair, just in time for the championship game, then stormed out of press conferences when confronted by it.

Proud history over there at Nebraska.

Thanks for the memories during our 11 win seasons. We were truly an elite school that barely anyone could beat including Bama during that time.

He's a POS jerk who never hesitated to kick a team while they were down. Now that his team is officially shite, he's bailing mid season. Coward. Piece. Of. Shite.

He's probably giving South Carolina a head start on its search

I wonder if he is sick and intends to focus on that and family. It's a little sudden is all.

Won't be the same on Saturdays without the HBC coaching a football team.

Him retiring at the end of the season would be sad, but not unexpected

Him retiring mid-season makes me feels like he's dead

I has the feelz
