We had a transfer from Miami Deandre Burnett who set out this year will be a big player next year. My Miami friends tall me he can play and he just left because he didn't fit with the new coach at Miami.
Not saying his the savior but defiantly a good player with some young players coming around. Add in another JUCO transfer that we need and it could be a solid team. We will see.

What does Ole Miss have coming back next year? Serious question.
Fitzpatrick-Dorsey has shown flashes of being able to score.
Saiz will be a rock.
Hymon has shown that he is going to be great but just isn't consistant.
Terrance Williams will be a role player. He is an energy guy.
We will probably have like 3 guys transfer/quit and a couple of JuCos or grad transfers come in like we have every year.

New coach? They had the same coach since 2011. Tell us why he really left now...

How much longer honestly does Kennedy have?

Then I miss understood what he was saying. He was telling me how the coach liked guards that were differen and he didn't fit that. Guess I figured it was an new coach but I was wrong. He was high on the guy. You can think he stinks all you want.

That was the greatest single performance I've ever seen live in person. Moody should definitely win POTY.
Also could y'all imagine if he was 6'3"?

Did you know he is FSU RB Dalvin Cook's brother?

Ole Miss will actually be solid next year
Burnett (4* transfer from Miami)/Escobar/Finley
Brooks/Fitzpatrick-Dorsey
Furmanivicius/Davis
Hymon/Coger (4* who originally signed with Mizzou)
Saiz/Morris - a 6'11 banger with offers from Baylor, Texas, FSU, SMU, etc
Substantially more size and depth that this year, not to mention only two seniors on the roster. Kennedy has always had an excellent eye for talent and the recruiting options will significantly expand with the addition of The Pavilion. AK is about to build a wall Trump style around Memphis.
Fwiw, I think this year has been one of the better coaching jobs of his tenure considering the injuries and the overall inexperience and mediocrity on the roster.

Man I really don't follow college basketball. I watch it and enjoy it but don't follow it. I just said something based off a conversation I had watching the Miami game this weekend with a guy that dose follow Miami BB over cigars and beers. Also listening to our mods talk about it on a podcast. So I'm sure I missed on the details and don't know a lot there.

I've never seen a coach rely so heavy on JUCO players more than Kennedy does - but it works for him. 2 more coming in next year. But it works for yall, always has yall competitive just enough and a bubble team most years.
Pavilion is A+ facility for sure but players more care about NBA, and in 7 seasons, Kennedy hasn't got a player drafted yet.
That wall might get destroyed if Memphis actually hires a good coach.

I wasn't saying you didn't. Just telling you an interesting fact from a quick google search.

Terrico White was drafted in the 2nd round but he is the only one. Your point is valid.

Oh no I appreciate it and I like that stuff. Just being honest about my knowledge on the subject.

Well it sucks but AK has a moral standard and chooses not to cheat on the crootin' front. We do what we can

You will see the juco players and graduate transfers subside once the recruiting dividends of the Pavilion start to materialize. Most are blind to just how good Kennedy has been at Ole Miss. Factor in the historical context of the program and the reality that he's had the worst facilities in the conference to work with, it's clear to see that he's been nothing short of a miracle worker.
Speaking of the Memphis coaching search, Tom Thibadeau made an appearance at the bank that my Tiger High buddy works at downtown. He really thinks Thibs was there prospecting the job and basically getting a feel for Memphis

Merlins should take diamond mining notes from AK.

Mullen's diamonds end up the league. Kennedy's....well don't.
